Yoruba Gospel Singer Taiwo Adegbodu Of Adegbodu Twins Dies Suddenly

Taiwo Adegbodu, widely known as one-half of the Yoruba gospel music pair Adegbodu Twins, has passed away.

The announcement was made on Sunday through a statement shared on the duo’s verified Facebook page by their management team. In the heartfelt post, the family expressed deep sorrow over his unexpected demise, describing it as a painful loss that has left them devastated.

Gospel singer Esther Igbekele also took to Instagram to confirm the sad development. She posted a photo of Taiwo and penned an emotional tribute in Yoruba in his honour.

Details surrounding the circumstances of his death were yet to be disclosed as of press time.

Taiwo ministered alongside his twin brother, Kehinde Adegbodu, and the pair became prominent figures in the Yoruba gospel music industry following the release of their debut album, Faratimi (Lean on Me), in 1999. Their unique blend of inspirational messages and rich Yoruba cultural expressions earned them a loyal fan base within the Christian community.

Some of their well-known tracks include Shower Your Blessing, God Concert, Emi Mimo, Igbagbo Dun, Ma Beru and Adura Mi Gba.
