VeryDarkman Admits He Initiated Call Leading to Harrison Gwamnishu’s Arrest in Edo State
Social media commentator VeryDarkman has revealed that he was the one who initiated the call that led to the arrest of activist Harrison Gwamnishu, currently in police custody in Benin, Edo State.
In a video shared on Facebook, VeryDarkman said he first learned of an incident involving Gwamnishu in Auchi and was disappointed by the details he received. He claimed he had advised those involved to keep the matter private, but after a video emerged online, he felt compelled to act.
VeryDarkman described Gwamnishu’s response video as an attempt to “gaslight” the public and manipulate sentiment. He added that the police had instructed witnesses not to record the incident, but one person captured a clip showing Gwamnishu returning money related to the case.
Addressing claims that jealousy motivated his actions, VeryDarkman insisted that he intervened to ensure “the truth” was upheld. He expressed hope that once Gwamnishu is released, the activist will publicly clarify the incident, warning that he may disclose further details if that does not happen.
He stated: “Harrison Gwamnishu is in police custody in Benin, Edo State. He was arrested yesterday night. In all honesty, I initiated the call that led to his arrest. I did. I’m really disappointed in everything, but I would wait for him to come out, and this time, I want him to use his mouth to say the truth about what happened in Auchi.
“When the whole thing happened, they called me. I was surprised, so I had to make other calls, spoke to the police, asked different questions, and when the story was confirmed, I was sad.
“Then I saw Harrison had made his own video to explain. When I watched it, it was really gaslighting, especially because I know the truth. He didn’t manage it well, trying to counter the narrative, seek sympathy, and manipulate people emotionally. I was disappointed.
“Anyway, he’s in police custody. I made that call, and when he comes out, I hope he will tell the public the truth. As for the money, whether he took it or not, here is a video of him returning it.”
“Harrison was arrested last night, in all honesty i made the call that led to his arrest. I am really disappointed in everything, but i will wait for him to come out and use his mouth to say the truth about what happened in Auchi."
