PRESS RELEASE
OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERATION
The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has noted recent insinuations, particularly on social media, concerning the composition of Federal appointments. In response, the Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to national unity and fair representation in appointments, and categorically refutes claims of lopsidedness. It remains fully dedicated to the principles of fairness, equity, and national unity in all its dealings.
Federal appointments are made in strict compliance with the federal character principle as enshrined in Section 14 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as Altered). President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, believes strongly in the unity of Nigeria and is guided by the ideals of fairness and justice when selecting individuals to serve in national capacities.
This Administration is committed to ensuring that all regions and demographics of the country are adequately represented across institutions and agencies of government. The ideals of inclusivity and balanced representation are central to the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at fostering national cohesion and driving sustainable development.
The OSGF urges the public to disregard unfounded speculations and instead rely on official government sources for accurate information. Individuals or groups promoting divisive narratives and baseless allegations should not be given any credence. Inquiries regarding appointments may be directed to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, which remains the official custodian of such matters.
