TikToker, Eddie Bliss Apologises to Mercy Johnson After Defamation Case Dropped
Content creator Eddie Bliss has apologised to actress Mercy Johnson and her family after a defamation case against her was withdrawn, leading to her release from police custody.
Bliss had shared unverified content from an online blog, which reportedly caused distress to Mercy Johnson and her husband, Prince Henry Okojie.
In a video statement, Eddie Bliss admitted her mistake and expressed gratitude to the actress for dropping the charges.
“I came across a post from a blog called Cutie Julls and shared it on my page without confirming the information. That video caused a lot of harm and hurt to the family of Mr and Mrs Okojie. I am sincerely sorry for any damage I have caused,” she said.
Bliss added, “I also want to say thank you very much, ma, for dropping the charges against me. You don’t know what you have done for my family and me.” She captioned the video: “Thank you so much, ma, I truly appreciate your kindness. I am very sorry for the inconvenience I caused you and your family. God bless you again.”
Her arrest came after Mercy Johnson reported her to the police over false and damaging claims about her and her husband. The actress stated that she chose to withdraw the case out of respect for those who appealed to her, but warned that false claims about her family would not be tolerated.
