Tinubu Names Governor Hope Uzodimma Renewed Hope Ambassador

President Bola Tinubu has named Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as the “Renewed Hope Ambassador” in preparation for the nationwide launch of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme. Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, disclosed the appointment in a statement, noting that Uzodimma will also serve as Director-General for party outreach, engagement, and mobilisation. In this capacity, he will spearhead efforts to promote the Tinubu administration’s agenda across Nigeria. The statement highlighted that Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum, will collaborate with APC leaders and governors to ensure unity, strategic coordination, and effective messaging. Other APC governors will also serve as “Ambassadors of Hope,” supporting efforts to boost grassroots awareness and backing for government policies. The Ward Development Programme, a key element of the Renewed Hope agenda, aims to deliver micro-projects, social services, and livelihood support to all 8,809 electoral wards nationwide. Onanuga stressed that the appointment is part of Tinubu’s plan to strengthen communication of his administration’s achievements, especially amid public concerns over inflation and the removal of fuel subsidies. The statement cited several indicators of progress, including seven consecutive months of easing inflation, a stabilised exchange rate, rising foreign reserves exceeding $46bn, increased foreign and domestic investment, economic diversification, and the expansion of student loan programmes benefiting over 700,000 students. Tinubu tasked Uzodimma with ensuring Nigerians are fully aware of the administration’s accomplishments, reinforcing the government’s Renewed Hope agenda at both the party and grassroots levels.

Bayo Onanuga Says 38 Churchgoers Were Freed From Kwara Kidnappers After Security Operatives Threatened Consequences

Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, has explained how 38 churchgoers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, last Tuesday were safely released on Sunday, November 23. In an interview with Arise TV on November 24, Onanuga said the military and the Department of State Security (DSS) were instrumental in the operation. He revealed that security agencies contacted the kidnappers directly, making it clear that failure to release the victims would have serious consequences. “They engaged the bandits to secure the release of the captives. Oshiomhole Tells Politicians To Stop Arming Youths, Says It Fuels Post-Election Violence

Adams Oshiomhole Says Tinubu Is Making Clear Progress In Tackling Insecurity

Adams Oshiomhole says President Bola Tinubu is taking concrete steps to strengthen Nigeria’s security system and that the situation is no longer as dire as it was before the APC came into power in 2015. He recalled a time when Boko Haram controlled several local government areas in the northeast and even forced the postponement of national elections. He argued that those conditions make today’s reality clearly different, even though insecurity has not been completely resolved. Oshiomhole noted that more suspects are now being convicted for terrorism but questioned why some judges issue light sentences despite the law prescribing the death penalty for certain offences. He insisted that judges should interpret the law, not amend it, and stressed that only the President is empowered to grant clemency. He credited recent gains to improved intelligence gathering and better coordination from the Office of the National Security Adviser. He added that Tinubu has shown commitment by changing service chiefs and demanding stronger responses to threats. Oshiomhole also said Tinubu instructed the Inspector General of Police to recruit 30,000 additional officers so that the police can resume policing duties while the military focuses on its core responsibilities. He revealed that, after the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi, the Senate advised the President to begin the process of adding 100,000 more personnel to the armed forces. He maintained that Nigeria’s population has grown far beyond the capacity of its security agencies, making expansion necessary. Although the insecurity challenge has not disappeared, he said arrests are being made, convictions are rising, and the President is actively driving efforts to rebuild the country’s security structure.

Orji Uzor Kalu Claims Politicians Are Fueling Killings And Abductions To Destabilise Tinubu Government

Former Abia State governor and Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, has accused politicians of orchestrating the recent rise in killings and abductions across Nigeria to undermine President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Kalu said the wave of attacks is not random but part of a calculated plan, drawing parallels to attempts to destabilise former President Goodluck Jonathan. He declined to name the alleged sponsors but suggested both local and foreign actors are involved. “What we are seeing is always a routine, something that goes with the elections. When you have an election, people will try to pressure the government in power for all kinds of things to start happening. And you can remember when President Jonathan was here, a similar thing happened,” Kalu stated. He added that the ongoing insecurity is a strategic move linked to political manoeuvring ahead of upcoming elections. According to him, the attacks mirror past periods of heightened unrest aimed at weakening the incumbent government. Despite his concerns, Kalu expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s response to the crisis, noting that the President had cancelled official engagements to focus on national security following several high-profile abductions. “For the first time, you see the president cancelling all his engagements. Today is Sunday, and he faced security challenges. He faced everything about security,” he said. Kalu assured Nigerians that the government is making every effort to rescue abducted victims, including recently kidnapped schoolgirls. “Those girls will be recovered. The government is making every effort to make sure these people are recovered,” he said, describing the current situation as “not the best of times” for the country. He also praised the military and security agencies, acknowledging that service chiefs and operatives have been fully deployed to restore peace and security.

Breaking: Tinubu Orders Withdrawal of Police Officers from VVIPs

President Bola Tinubu has directed that police officers be withdrawn from VIP protection duties to strengthen security across communities. The instruction was issued during a security meeting with top service chiefs, including Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, and Director-General of the Department of State Services Tosin Adeola Ajayi. The move comes amid rising abductions and security threats nationwide. Going forward, VIPs seeking protection will be required to request well-armed personnel from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, allowing the police to focus on their primary duties. Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, noted that many areas, especially remote communities, have limited police presence, making it difficult to ensure public safety. “In view of the current security challenges facing the country, President Tinubu is keen on boosting police presence in all communities. He has approved the recruitment of 30,000 additional police officers and is working with states to upgrade police training facilities nationwide,” the statement added.
