Future Regrets Past Relationships, Says Growing Up Without Male Role Models Shaped His Mistakes
Renowned American rapper Future has opened up about regrets regarding how he treated women in the past, attributing some of his mistakes to growing up without positive male role models. In a candid interview with Hot 97 FM, the “Mask Off” hitmaker explained that he never had an example of how a man should show love and respect to a woman. He revealed that in his childhood, he never saw his mother receive genuine affection or gestures from a man. “My biggest regret in life is that I should have loved harder. I should have found a way to love the right way,” he said. He continued, “I came from nothing, and I didn’t have a person or a male role model to show me how to treat a woman. I have never seen someone buy my mum a flower.” Future, who shares nine children with different women, admitted that his past relationships served as his only guide for navigating love, but stressed that he is now committed to learning from those experiences and improving the way he approaches relationships.
