Breaking: Adeboye Renames RCCG Apapa Family

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of Church (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has ordered the renaming of famous Apapa Family with immediate effect. Adeboye, during his second visit to Trinity Towers, the home of the RCCG City of David parish, which serves as the headquarters of the Apapa Family—now The Favoured Family, alongside his wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye, received a divine instruction to rename the well-known family within the RCCG structure. “The new cruse, signified a fresh start, a restoration of lost glory, and a renewed determination to rekindle the fire of spiritual fervency. If anyone had once been hot and had grown lukewarm, they would now burn brightly again. “With this divine instruction, the renaming of the family marks a new chapter, a fresh direction, and a renewed purpose for what is now known as The Favoured Family. “Glory be to God!,” he enthused.

Suspended RCCG pastor, Iluyomade, unveils new ministry in Lagos

Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, the suspended pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David Parish, has launched a new ministry in Lagos called The Family Fellowship. In a video that went viral on Monday morning, Iluyomade was seen celebrating with members during their inaugural service held at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. The service, which took place on Sunday morning, was marked by joyous dancing and jubilation. Announcing the new ministry on Instagram, Iluyomade invited the public to attend the fellowship. He wrote, “The Family Fellowship invites you specially. Join us tomorrow at the Civic Centre for a special time in the Lord’s presence. Promises to be a great experience.” Iluyomade, formerly the senior pastor of City of David Parish, was suspended by RCCG in 2024 after his wife, Pastor Siju, hosted an elaborate 60th birthday celebration shortly after the tragic death of Herbert Wigwe, a prominent church member and former CEO of Access Bank, along with his wife and son. Many criticised the timing of the celebration, which took place just weeks after Wigwe’s passing in a helicopter crash in the United States, viewing it as insensitive.

Dino Melaye denies marriage plans

A former Senator and member of the 8th Nigeria National Assembly, representing Kogi West Senatorial district Dino Melaye has denied remarrying as claimed on social media. According to a post on Facebook, the Senator was said to be planning to solmnise union with a Lagos-based businesswoman at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ogudu on December 26. The invite indicated that Fuji Music Icon Wasiu Ayinde (K1 D’Ultimate) will be on stand to entertain guests at the wedding reception. The Senator however took to social media to deny the claims saying: “419 taken too far. “General Public i dont know this person talkless of marriage. “Even for film it can’t happen. “SDM is not available ooo.” In 2015 he defected to All Progressives Congress (APC) but returned to PDP in the build-up to 2019 elections after months of political struggle with Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello. He was chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja and briefly chairman of the Senate Committee on Aviation in Nigeria. He was the spokesperson of 2023 presidential candidate of People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.
