American Rapper Lil Poppa Passes Away At 25 In Georgia
Lil Poppa has died at the age of 25, just days after dropping a new song. The rapper, whose real name was Janarious Mykel Wheeler, passed away in Georgia, according to confirmation from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office. Officials said both the cause and manner of his death were still pending as of Wednesday evening, while investigations continue. He was pronounced dead at 11:23 a.m., TMZ reported. Born in 2000, the Jacksonville, Florida native built a notable catalog within a short time. He broke through with his 2021 debut studio album Blessed, I Guess, which helped cement his place in the rap scene. He later joined Collective Music Group, the label founded by Yo Gotti, and went on to release fan favorites including Love & War, Mind Over Matter and HAPPY TEARS. In August 2025, he unveiled his most recent album, Almost Normal Again, and embarked on a 20-date Almost Normal Again Tour across the United States, according to WTSP-TV.
