Burial of Late Gospel Singer Omije Ojumi Cancelled Over Family Dispute
The planned funeral for late gospel musician Omije Ojumi has been postponed. Lanre Alewilese, a colleague of the singer, shared the update on Instagram on behalf of the burial committee. He explained that unresolved issues within the family of the late Bunmi Akinnaanu were behind the cancellation. “This is to inform you that all burial plans of our Late Sister & Colleague, Bunmi Akinnaanu has been CANCELLED over issues arising within her family. We’re deeply sorry for inconveniences,” Alewilese wrote. The committee had previously announced that the burial was set for Wednesday, January 20, 2026.
