Abuja is set to host an unusual family celebration as nine children of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, are scheduled to get married on the same day. Preparations for the mass wedding are already in full swing, with the ceremony fixed for February 6 at the Abuja Central Mosque. The event is expected to begin at 1:30 pm. An invitation card circulating on social media, which was sighted on Saturday, features the photograph of the minister and lists the names of the couples as Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muhammad, Nana Firdausi and Farida. Confirming the arrangement, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zamfara State Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, revealed that the minister’s children involved are five sons and four daughters. “By the grace of God, the wedding ceremony will take place at the Abuja Central Mosque on February 6. The minister’s children who are getting married are five sons and four daughters,” he said. Idris, who disclosed that he is a member of the organising committee, assured that all necessary arrangements are progressing smoothly. “As of now, preparations are in top gear to ensure a successful and hitch-free ceremony in Abuja,” he added.
