The discussion was sparked when a fan asked what she would be doing today had music not worked out. Tems left her job as a digital marketer in January 2018 to fully focus on her music. Since then, she has enjoyed remarkable success, releasing her debut single, “Mr Rebel,” in July 2018 and later featuring on Wizkid’s hit “Essence,” which reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Reflecting on her alternative career paths, Tems said, “I might have been an accountant or a mathematics teacher,” underscoring her strong affinity for numbers alongside her musical talent.
