Davido’s baby mama, Sophia Momodu, has hit back at social media critics who have been targeting her 10-year-old daughter, Imade. The backlash followed questions about why Imade did not join her father during his recent birthday celebrations. One critic asked, “Sophia, why don’t you allow your daughter to celebrate with her dad?” Sophia responded firmly, rejecting the ongoing narratives about her parenting: “You people have been spreading this false narrative for over 10 years. While I try to be graceful, I am also a fiercely protective mother. Say whatever you want about me, but leave my child alone! Imade is not a bargaining chip to make me conform.” She also addressed a video circulating online that suggested Imade “always looks sad” and is suffering emotional pain because of her mother. Sophia emphasized that her daughter is still very young: “My child is an innocent 10-year-old, a pre-teen. She hasn’t even started figuring things out yet. She’s literally still a baby.” Sophia warned that any future negative mentions of her daughter would be met with legal action: “Moving forward, anyone — bloggers or otherwise — who brings my daughter’s name up in a negative light will hear from her lawyers. I have completely removed myself from the equation. My daughter will thrive in peace. I will forever stand up for my child, even if nobody else does.” She also expressed frustration with continued online attacks, saying: “I honestly cannot wait to use one of you as a scapegoat. Let’s finish 2025 in grand style since some people don’t have sense and keep attacking an innocent 10-year-old. Imade is not a tool to manipulate me. Move on!” Sophia’s statements highlight her determination to shield Imade from public scrutiny and false narratives, making it clear that her daughter’s wellbeing is her top priority.
