Alex Iwobi Exposes Poor Hotel Conditions Ahead of Super Eagles’ World Cup Play-Off in Morocco

Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi has shared a video highlighting poor conditions at the hotel where the team is staying ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup African play-off against Gabon in Morocco. The video shows facilities that appear below standard for an international team, raising concerns about the arrangements made by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). While CAF usually manages lodging for participating nations, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) can request alternative hotels if necessary. Nigerian players have voiced similar complaints in the past. Earlier this year, Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade criticised CAF-provided accommodations during the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The Super Eagles are scheduled to face Gabon on November 13, aiming to secure their spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As of now, neither CAF nor the NFF has responded to Iwobi’s video. Phyna Cries Out After Alleged Assault And Detention At Gwarinpa Hotel Over N3.5m Damage Dispute

Reality TV star and actress, Phyna, has caused a stir online after accusing a popular Abuja hotel, Dalchifit Suites in Gwarinpa, of mistreating her and unlawfully detaining her over a disputed damage fee of N3.5 million. In a series of emotional Instagram posts, the former BBNaija winner alleged that the hotel failed to ensure her safety after allowing a group of touts to invade her room and attack her. She claimed that instead of protecting her, the management turned against her and demanded payment for damages she insisted she did not cause. “Dalchifit Hotel in Gwarinpa allowed touts to come into the hotel to fight me, and now they are about to lock me up till Monday because I refused to pay a damage fee of N3.5m. Please, I’m in prison right now,” she wrote. Phyna further accused the hotel of being complicit in the attack, alleging that staff disclosed her room number to the intruders who broke down her door. “Because I’m Phyna, I’m being forced by a hotel that couldn’t secure me. A hotel that allowed touts through their main gate, reception, and up to the second floor to break my door. The same hotel that told them my room number — I’ve never seen such a thing,” she lamented. The media personality also claimed that the management refused to release CCTV footage that could prove her innocence. “@dalchifitsuiteshotel is locking me up till Monday because I requested the CCTV footage to confirm the supposed damage. Till now, they’ve refused to show it to the police, and after putting me at risk, they are about to lock me up at Gwarinpa Police Station,” she alleged. Amid the controversy, Phyna shared a cryptic post reflecting her emotional distress, writing, “2025 for just take me leave Ruth.” As of the time of this report, Dalchifit Suites has yet to issue any official statement regarding Phyna’s allegations, while reactions continue to pour in from fans and social media users expressing concern and outrage over the incident.
