Kcee Reveals Why He Refused To Sign Flavour Years Ago Amid Feud Speculations

Kcee has opened up on the long-standing tension between him and Flavour, clarifying that their history goes back to the early days of Flavour’s career when a recording deal was on the table. According to the Limpopo singer, Flavour was introduced to him by music executive Soso Soberekon for a possible signing, but he turned the offer down because he did not see enough potential at the time. He suggested that the recent shade thrown at him by the highlife star may be rooted in how far he has risen against expectations. “When some people had written you off, hoping that you would be stagnant, and you work hard and get to a level they don’t expect you to reach, that was what happened.” Kcee also made it clear that he never had any personal issues with Flavour, adding that at the time of their first meeting, he was already established in the industry. “I came into the music industry before Flavour. Soso Soberekon brought him to me years ago to sign to my record label. I was already driving exotic cars and balling before he came to Lagos. I told Soso I can’t sign Flavour because I didn’t see potentials in him at that time. It wasn’t because I have something against him.” Despite the lingering tension, Kcee insists he still cannot pinpoint the real source of the bad blood. “Till now, I don’t understand the reason for his beef with me, especially that incident where he alleged that someone was coping him.” He added that many colleagues have often misjudged him due to his quiet nature. “A lot of my colleagues underrate my talent and my humility also contributed to that. Because I don’t brag. I don’t need it. But as I always say, time will always prove them wrong. My work always prove every doubter wrong.” Kcee concluded by saying that time is already exposing the truth, as some who once doubted him have since returned to apologise and admit their mistakes.

Fake Flavour Defends Stage Name, Says He Doesn’t Pretend To Be Flavour N’abania For Money

Nigerian performer Fake Flavour has addressed accusations that he impersonates highlife superstar Flavour N’abania, insisting his act is never meant to mislead fans. In a video message, he explained that his stage name reflects his admiration for Flavour. He also revealed that his performance fees range from ₦700,000 to ₦800,000—significantly lower than what Flavour charges—and that clients are aware he is a different artist. “I just love him,” Fake Flavour said, stressing that he does not adopt Flavour’s identity for financial gain. “Flavour would never perform for that amount. People who book me know I’m doing my own thing, and I’m not pretending to be him to get money.” "Please, I'm not using Flavour's name to scām people, I just love Flavour. I get paid ₦700,000 to ₦900,000 for a show, that money is too small for Flavour." — Fake Flavour cries out. 😂 https://t.co/FP9ZhRIsd6 pic.twitter.com/K7orH9h3r6 — 𝐀𝐬𝐚𝐤𝐲𝐆𝐑𝐍 (@AsakyGRN) October 29, 2025
