Gospel Singer, Eleyele Breaks Down As She Speaks On Struggles In Her Music Journey
Gospel singer Busola Oke, widely known as Eleyele, broke down in tears as she opened up about the hurdles in her music career. In a heartfelt message, she expressed frustration over the lack of recognition for quality gospel music today and the difficulties she faces as an artist. Her emotional outpouring came shortly after the death of fellow gospel singer Bunmi Omije Ojumi. Eleyele painted a vivid picture of struggle, questioning how people are expected to survive amid scarcity. “Good music doesn’t sell anymore. How can someone eat when there’s no food? How can you drive when there’s no car? How can you be at peace when there’s no peace? How can you feel less alone when you’re all by yourself?” she said, tears streaming down her face. She also revealed feelings of isolation, noting that many who once supported her have disappeared during her hardest times. “When things were going well, so many people were around. But now that there’s nothing, you don’t see anyone anymore — no colleagues, no friends, no family… nobody,” she shared. Her emotional confession has sparked widespread sympathy from Nigerians, with many urging support for the gospel singer. Busola oke laments good music don’t sell anymore!
