President Tinubu Receives Duke Of Edinburgh At State House To Promote International Award

President Bola Tinubu on Monday hosted Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The Duke is in Nigeria to lead a series of events in Lagos from November 17 to 23, aimed at expanding the reach of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award worldwide. The programme is a non-formal educational framework that helps young people explore their purpose, passion, and potential. The week-long event is set to bring together nearly 200 youths from over 50 countries, along with hundreds of award leaders, policymakers, and representatives of global youth movements. Participants will first undergo a three-day intensive youth leadership programme before taking part in the award’s triennial forum, which focuses on increasing access to the programme globally. Prince Edward was accompanied by Richard Montgomery, British High Commissioner to Nigeria, and other officials, while Nigerian attendees included Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy.
