Mohbad’s Father Insists Burial Waits Until DNA Test On Son Liam Is Completed

Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has declared that his son will not be laid to rest until a DNA test is conducted on Mohbad’s son, Liam. In a video shared on Tuesday, Aloba said, “The DNA test is the most important thing. Once it is done, Mohbad will be buried.” He further stressed, “Mohbad will be buried immediately after the DNA test is completed.” Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, and was initially buried the following day, a decision that sparked nationwide outrage. His body was later exhumed for an autopsy amid calls for a thorough investigation into his death. More than two years later, his remains remain in government custody. The renewed controversy over the DNA test comes amid persistent questions about paternity. Aloba has insisted that the test must be conducted in his presence or through a representative to ensure transparency. He maintains that he alone has the authority to authorize the burial and that the DNA result is crucial for “closure.”

Mohbad’s Father Drops Bombshell, Says Wunmi Was Never Married To His Son And Demands Urgent DNA Test

Fresh tension has emerged in the rift between the late Mohbad’s family and his widow, Omowunmi, after the singer’s father released a new message challenging the authenticity of their relationship. In the recording, he insisted he never witnessed or approved any traditional marriage rites, saying the only event he attended was an introduction ceremony. He questioned who received her bride price and stressed that nothing resembling a formal wedding took place. He said: “When my son was alive and Cynthia claimed to be pregnant, I felt it was necessary to meet her family properly. When we got there, I saw many of her relatives seated. We completed the introduction, and I met my son’s father-in-law for the first time. But I was shocked to hear claims that a traditional wedding happened without any knowledge or even the presence of the family head. Who collected the bride price?” He added that Mohbad had once cancelled plans to officially marry Omowunmi after accusing her of cheating. “He said he caught her with another man, informed his friend Myson and his elder sibling and mother, and then decided to tell me. That was why he called off the marriage plans.” He said these issues are part of why he continues to demand a DNA test for Mohbad’s son: “And that is one of the reasons why I’m asking for DNA.”
