Sarah Martins Takes Dispatch Rider On Date, Clears Air On Sack Rumours

Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has addressed the controversy surrounding a dispatch rider who went viral after professing his love for her, dismissing claims that he was sacked from his job because of the incident. In a fresh social media post titled “The DISPATCH RIDER and his crush,” the actress revealed that she personally reached out to the young man, Opeyemi, after previously blocking him. According to her, she decided to invite him out for lunch as a kind gesture. “So I reached out to Opeyemi last night after unblocking and asked him out on a date and in less than a second he replied and accepted to go on a lunch date with me” She was quick to clarify that the outing did not mean she had accepted his romantic advances. Instead, she said it was her way of showing compassion and reminding him of his value. “Note: This is not me saying yes to his love request, this is me extending my hands of love to him reminding him that he is worthy of LOVE and AFFECTION regardless of his status.” Sarah also shared that she tried to encourage him to focus on becoming financially stable, expressing hope that he would eventually find someone more suitable when the time is right. However, she said he remained firm about his feelings for her. “I tried to convince him that God will bless him with a woman better than me when he’s financially stable enough to settle down but baba insisted it’s me or nobody else” She further debunked widespread rumours that the dispatch rider had been dismissed from his job following the viral attention. “And again, he wasn’t sacked nor suspended from his dispatch work but a little assistance from each and everyone of us can help him stand on his own as a man.” Her update has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some applauding her gesture while others continue to debate the situation.   View this post on Instagram
