Davido, Asa to Star at 2025 Gateway Games Opener

Nigerian musician David Adedeji Adeleke professionally known as Davido and Bukola Elemide also known as Asa will tonight thrill sports fans to frenzy at the opening ceremony of the 22nd National Sports Festival tagged; Gateway Games 2025. The opening ceremony slated to hold at the new refurbished MKO Abiola Sports Arena, is expected to treat over 10,000 athletes, officials and fans with the hospitality of the Gateway State. A Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Chief Bukola Olopade, who was the Commissioner for Sports the last time Ogun State hosted the Mini Olympics in a post on his Twitter handle congratulated the State on the organistion of a World class event. “Let the Games begin. “This is our own Olympics and from start to finish, the festival must portray that global feel, both in competition and organisation. “This is why the National Sports Commission and the Ogun State Government have put up a World class event to mark the Opening ceremony later today by 5pm. “Two of Nigeria’s top Music icons Davido and Asa will be performing live at the MKO Sports Arena. “Beyond the aesthetic people will be seeing today, which confirms to everyone what I have been saying that Ogun will host the best Festival, we are also determined to ensure that people witness the best throughout the Games,” the astute Sports Administrator assured.

Davido Unveils Tracklist for Fifth Studio Album ‘5ive’

Grammy-nominated singer Davido has revealed the tracklist for his highly anticipated fourth studio album, “5ive”. The tracklist showcases a diverse range of collaborations with both local and international artists. “Legacy is not what you leave behind, but what you breathe into the future. 72 hours away! Thank you for the love & support,” Davido wrote on Instagram. Davido to donate N300m to Orphanage homes

A Nigerian singer David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has pledged to donate the sum of N300million to Orphanage homes across the country. Davido made the pledge on his official X handle on Monday. The Songwriter stated that the donation to the Orphanage homes is to celebrate his 32nd birthday on November 21. He wrote; “Once again, my birthday this year we are donating to orphanages and charity that helps young people stay away from drug and addiction. “This year is N300m. “Details to folow soon.” Davido founded the Davido Adeleke Foundation in 2022 with the help of other charitable organisations, in a bid to help vulnerable children. In July 2023, he proudly announced the foundation donated over 200 million to orphanages in the country and 13,818 children benefited from it. In the press release posted at the time, he said: “I founded the DAF in 2022 with a strong desire and passion to continually assist and create a proper framework for the ongoing charitable works to benefit the good people of Nigeria. Through this Foundation we have raised millions of Naira and dispersed much-needed funds to hundreds of orphanages significantly improving the lives of countless children.” The charitable tradition began back in 2021 after the singer’s birthday, when he made over ₦200 million in donations after sharing his bank account details on his Twitter (now X) page. After amassing the large sum of money, the singer announced that he planned to donate it all to orphanages across Nigeria, “I am delighted to announce that all the funds received totaling ₦200,000,000 will be donated to orphanages across Nigeria as well as the Paroche Foundation,” he said.Keeping to his word, he disbursed the funds after adding ₦50 million.

Nigerian megastar, David Adeleke aka Davido, on Wednesday released the official music video of Joy with Angelique Kidjo.  The musician made the announcement on his official X handle.  He wrote; “Joy’s music video with @angeliquekidjo is out now!!!” Similarly, Angelique Kidjo, who featured by Davido, also took to her X handle to promote the new music video. “The “JOY” video with @davido directed by master @DammyTwitch is out now!!!  “We received so much love for that song that we wanted to celebrate JOY once more with you! “Thank you to all the inspiring people both in front and behind the camera.” The music video release is expected to propel the song to even greater heights.

Breaking: Davido, Chioma set for white wedding

Nigerian musician David Adeleke aka Davido and his heart rob Chioma have revealed plans for their white wedding.  Chioma in a post on her X handle on Monday wrote; “Are you ready for Round 2?  “The Chivido2024 white wedding.” The couple held their traditional wedding in Nigeria’s commercial city, Lagos, on Tuesday, June 25th. The wedding was attended by notable people, including former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Davido’s uncle Ademola Adeleke, who is also the governor of Osun State. Two other governors also attended the ceremony. The other prominent guests were musicians Don Jazzy and Patoranking, football star Victor Osimhen, and Seyi Tinubu, the son of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu. The ceremony was filled with bright smiles, hearty laughter, dance, networking and gifts. During the wedding rites, Davido assured Chioma’s parents that he would respect and protect her. The wedding was a culmination of colourful activities including the release of pre-wedding photos and videos on Davido’s Instagram page, where he has nearly 30 million followers. In a past interview, 31-year-old Davido said he met 29-year-old Chioma before the musician became widely famous. The two met at Babcock University in Nigeria’s southwestern state of Ogun in 2013. Davido was pursuing a bachelor’s degree course in music, while Chioma was pursuing a bachelor’s degree course in economics at the institution. She later developed an interest in becoming a professional chef. When Davido and Chioma first met, Davido’s song “Dami Duro” was ruling the airwaves, and his music career was taking off. In a recent interview, Davido said one of his close friends often teased him that he had everything in life except a wife. The artiste added he was grateful that he met Chioma before becoming famous. In his words, Davido said: “If I was single today, and I met a lady, I would feel she is probably talking to me because I am Davido, the celebrity who has money.”

Davido slams INEC over Edo Election

Nigerian singer David Adedeji Adeleke aka Davido has slammed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the conduct of the Edo State Gubernatorial election.  Davido, 31, on Sunday took the Commission to the cleaners.  “My mom is from Edo for those wondering why I’m interested in the election … but we as Nigerians should be concerned sha.  “@inecnigeria shame on you I know how many times I had to come in here and rant before they got it right in Osun!  “It’s really bad. God help us,” the Songwriter fumes on his official X handle.  Against Davido’s favoured candidate, the All Progressive Congress candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo was declared winner of the election.  Okpebholo polled a total of 291,667 votes to defeat Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 247, 274 votes.
