Toyosi Etim Effiong Explains Why Cheating Would Not End Her Marriage

Toyosi Etim Effiong, the wife of Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong, has shared that infidelity alone would not make her walk away from her marriage. She expressed this view during a recent episode of the Toke Moments podcast, where she spoke candidly about marriage, commitment and the role of faith. Toyosi explained that while cheating is serious, it is not something she considers grounds for ending her union, as her focus is more on prayer and spiritual backing. “Cheating is not a dealbreaker for me. I even created a prayer group, Wives of Entertainers Prayer Group, to pray for our husbands so that Jezebels will not carry them,” she said. According to her, rather than abandoning her marriage in the face of infidelity, she chooses to lean on faith and prayer as a way of safeguarding her home and strengthening her relationship. She also emphasized that enduring marriages are built on love, patience and effective communication, noting that both partners must be intentional about understanding each other and working together through challenges.

Daniel Etim-Effiong Says He Prays Before Performing Kissing Scenes In Films

Nollywood actor and filmmaker Daniel Etim-Effiong has shared that he always turns to prayer before performing kissing scenes on screen, saying his faith guides the choices he makes in his acting career. On Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds, Etim-Effiong explained that many Nollywood films feature kissing scenes because producers believe romantic moments draw viewers and generate interest. He noted that this trend reflects audience demand rather than personal preference. “I often play romantic roles, which sometimes include kissing scenes. People think I do too many, but the real question is for the producers—why show affection in only one way when there are many? Every choice has its challenges, but staying focused helps me navigate criticism,” he said. Etim-Effiong added that prayer provides him with clarity and peace before shooting intimate scenes. “I go on my knees and pray before I step on set. My family keeps me grounded, and my work is my calling,” he explained. Having transitioned from a career in engineering to filmmaking, the actor described acting as both a calling and a form of worship. “Leaving a well-paying engineering job to pursue storytelling was a leap of faith. Acting lets me share stories that inspire people, and for me, that is a way of serving God,” he said.
