Grammy-winning American singer Ciara has arrived in Lagos to participate in the 15th anniversary celebration of Lagos Fashion Week and embark on a cultural homecoming tour. Her arrival was confirmed by the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Lagos State Governor, Jubril Gawat, who announced that she was warmly received by the Commissioner for Tourism, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka. “International Superstar and Grammy Award Winner, Ciara Princess Wilson, is in Lagos. She will be joining us to celebrate our tourism, art, and culture,” Gawat wrote. During her visit, Ciara is expected to explore Lagos’ rich artistic and cultural heritage, interact with local designers and artists, and visit notable cultural landmarks across the city. Described as a symbolic “homecoming,” her trip highlights Lagos as a global hub for creativity, fashion, and innovation. Ciara will also make appearances at Lagos Fashion Week, celebrating 15 years of promoting African fashion and creativity on the international stage. According to Gawat, her visit underscores the growing global recognition of Lagos as Africa’s cultural and creative capital, further strengthening its reputation in fashion and entertainment worldwide.
