NNL Holds Monthly Award Ceremony in Abuja

The Nigeria National League has concluded plans to organize its monthly award ceremony for players and teams in the league on Tuesday, 15th April in the Federal Capital, Abuja. Chief Operating Officer of the NNL, Danlami Alanana, told thenff.com that the event will commence at 2pm at the West-Point Hotel, Zone 7, Wuse. Award categories include Best Behaved Team of the Month, Best Coach, Best Goalkeeper, Highest Goal Scorer, Best Goal, Best Referee and Most Valuable Player. Crown FC’s Oladeji Joshua has been selected as the best goalkeeper, having kept clean sheets in three matches, while Abdullahi Umar of Kebbi United FC is the most valuable player with four goals, among these a hat-trick scored against Kada Warriors – which happened to be the first hat-trick notched in the season. Umar also takes the highest scorer’s gong, while Solution FC’s Coach Emmanuel Duetsch is best coach and Gateway United is the best-behaved team, having remained without any form of caution in the period under review. Gateway United’s Babatunde Taofeek notched the goal of the season, and Ogunfolaju Joshua from Osun State is the best referee of the month.

Donald Trump sworn in as 47th US President

Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States as he took the oath of office in a packed US Capitol building on Monday, amid deafening cheers from thousands of his supporters. Vice President JD Vance was the first to take the oath of office, as per convention. Trump received the loudest reaction as he walked to the podium for the swearing-in. Notably, Trump’s inauguration was the first to take place inside the Capitol building in 40 years due to severe cold. “I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States,” he said. The ceremony capped off Trump’s remarkable comeback to the White House for a second term, four years after he departed the city under the shadow of an attack by his supporters on the US Capitol.

Kenny Blaq celebrates 32nd birthday

Nigerian stand-up comedian and singer Otolorin Kehinde Peter popularly known as Kenny Blaq on Monday marked his 32nd birthday.  The comedian took to his X handle to celebrate and also to thank God for sparing his life and that of his twin sister.  He wrote; “Hello everyone it’s my birthday.  “Happy birthday to me, my beautiful twin sister and everyone celebrating their birthday today. “Just join me in saying thank you God for always coming through.  “All I want for my birthday is at least 100 people buying tickets for Sundays show.”  Kenny Blaq is the son of former Green Eagles star, Late Moses Otolorin. Otolorin who was a shining star in the national team colours was known for his famous long throw-ins.
