Broda Shaggi Hospitalised After Alleged Shooting During Skit Recording In Sango-Ota

Popular Nigerian skit maker and comedian Broda Shaggi has reportedly been admitted to hospital after he allegedly suffered a gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit in Sango-Ota, Ogun State. The entertainer, whose real name is Samuel Perry, was said to be creating content with his production team beneath the Sango-Ota bridge on Sunday afternoon when the incident occurred, according to a report by The Punch. Sources familiar with the situation revealed that the comedian was hit by a bullet during the shoot. Members of his crew reportedly rushed him from the scene to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos for immediate treatment. A police source who spoke anonymously because he was not authorised to discuss the matter publicly explained how the situation unfolded. “He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury. We don’t have details on how it happened yet, but his crew members who were present quickly rushed him to the hospital.” Medical workers at the hospital were said to have quickly stabilised him and administered first aid before he was later transferred to Duchess Hospital located in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja for further medical care, where he is now recovering. The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the police were alerted after the injured entertainer was brought to the hospital. “The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Detectives and a patrol team were immediately mobilised to the hospital, where they discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggy. “He was seen on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh. The location of the incident is in Sango-Ota and not within our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing.” Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the command had not received any official report about the incident. “The incident was alleged to have occurred in Ogun State, but it was not reported.”
