Simi: NAPTIP Launches Probe Into Alleged Child Molestation at Lagos Daycare
The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has commenced a comprehensive probe into allegations of child molestation and abuse at a daycare centre in Lagos.
The agency’s Director-General, Binta Adamu Bello, gave the directive after online posts surfaced suggesting possible misconduct at the facility. The controversy gained attention following resurfaced social media comments allegedly linked to singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi.
In a statement issued on X, NAPTIP confirmed that its operatives have been instructed to immediately begin investigations into the claims. The agency also acknowledged the public’s concern and assured Nigerians that its reporting channels remain open for anyone who may have experienced abuse or has relevant information about the daycare.
Reiterating its commitment to protecting children, NAPTIP urged members of the public to come forward with credible details to aid the investigation.
The agency’s action comes shortly after the Lagos State Government also moved to look into the matter.
