President Tinubu to Commission 11 Completed Road Projects, Flag Off New Infrastructure Initiatives Nationwide

President Bola Tinubu will today, May 31, 2025, commission 11 major road and bridge projects across Nigeria, marking a significant milestone in his administration’s infrastructural development agenda. The President will also flag off several new projects, as part of efforts to improve connectivity, stimulate economic growth, and enhance the quality of life for Nigerians.

Major Commissioned Projects:

  1. Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway
    • First 30km section: Ahmadu Bello Way (Victoria Island) to Eleko Village, Lekki Peninsula
    • Commissioning Location: Kilometre 8 near Jakande Estate, Lagos
  2. Lagos–Ibadan Expressway (Shagamu–Ibadan section) – 166.8km
  3. East-West Road (Eleme Junction to Ahoada) – 94km
  4. Alesi–Ugep Road, Cross River State – 67.1km
  5. Ikorodu–Shagamu Road, Lagos/Ogun States – 30.4km
  6. Enugu–Lokpanta Expressway
    • First 16km of 61km under rehabilitation
  7. New Artisan Market Bridge, Enugu – 75m dual-span bridge
  8. New Bridge at Akpoha, Ebonyi State – 75m single-span bridge
  9. Port Harcourt–Onne Junction (East-West Road) – First 15km
  10. Lagos–Badagry Expressway (Agbara–Seme Border) – 48.6km
  11. Rehabilitation of the Lagos–Badagry Expressway (additional section)
  12. Section of the Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway

Projects to be Flagged Off by the President:

  • Ibadan–Ife–Ilesha–Akure–Benin Highway
  • Nembe–Brass Road
  • Reconstruction of parts of the Enugu–Onitsha Expressway
  • Abakpa Flyover, Enugu State

Today’s events highlight President Tinubu’s commitment to building critical infrastructure that will serve as a foundation for Nigeria’s economic transformation. The commissioning coincides with the administration’s anniversary, tagged #PBATVersary.
