Noble Igwe Survives Fire Outbreak At Lagos Home, Praises Neighbours And Firefighters

Nigerian media personality Noble Igwe has recounted how a fire broke out in his Lagos home, narrowly avoiding what could have been a major tragedy. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. when the air conditioner in the kitchen suddenly caught fire as the family was preparing to go out for brunch.

According to Igwe, their domestic help noticed the flames and quickly alerted everyone in the house. His wife, Chioma, rushed out with their children and called for the car keys in a bid to ensure their safety. “About 12:30 pm, the AC in our kitchen caught fire while we were getting ready to go out for brunch. The help informed us, and Chioma ran out with her children and asked for the keys to her car,” he shared.

He praised the swift response of their neighbours and estate workers, who immediately came together to contain the fire. “It’s always good to build a community because today, my community showed up and fought the fire. Drivers, gatemen, house owners showed up and restricted the fire to the kitchen,” Igwe said.

Igwe also commended the Lagos State Fire Service for their prompt arrival in a brand-new fire truck, thanking Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the state government for their effective emergency response.

Expressing gratitude for their safety, Igwe wrote, “We thank God almighty for his mercies and grace. Help me thank you.”

Fortunately, no one was injured, and the fire was contained before it could spread beyond the kitchen.
