Ned Nwoko Sparks Reactions After Saying Every Man Should Have More Than One Wife

Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has reignited public debate on marriage following his recent interview on Channels Television, where he openly defended polygamy and spoke candidly about his personal life.

The senator, well known for his polygamous lifestyle, stated that he strongly believes “every man should marry more than one wife.”

When asked how he manages to maintain peace among his four wives, Nwoko responded with humour. “I’m sure you have a wife and girlfriends. Now, imagine I tell you to stand on one leg — it’s tough, right? But when you stand on two, three, or four legs, you’re much more balanced. That’s exactly how it is,” he said, laughing. “Honestly, I feel sorry for men with only one wife. It must be hard standing on one leg.”

Speaking on the religious perspective of polygamy, he said, “The Old Testament supports it, and I am a man of the Old Testament as well as a man of faith.”

When asked if he intends to marry more wives, Nwoko chuckled and replied, “That’s not what we’re here to discuss.” However, when pressed further on whether he would make the same choice again, he said confidently, “Of course, yes. I’d do it again and again.”

Reacting to questions about his preference for young, beautiful women, Nwoko said with a smile, “That’s just how it is — and that’s how it should be.”

He also dismissed rumours linking him to domestic vi%lence, saying, “No, come on. I’m not a vi%lent person. I respect my wives, I love them, and I love my kids. That’s not me.”

Ned Nwoko, a lawyer, businessman, and politician, is married to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels. He remains a vocal supporter of polygamy, which he often describes as a natural, traditional, and practical way of life.
