Father Cries Out As Nine-Month-Old Twins Die After Immunisation At Lagos Health Centre
A grieving father, Samuel Alozie, popularly known on TikTok as Promise Samuel, has shared a heartbreaking account of how his nine-month-old identical twin sons, Testimony and Timothy, allegedly died less than 24 hours after receiving injections at a primary health care centre in Lagos.
The tragedy came to public attention after Alozie posted a viral video showing the lifeless bodies of his twins placed in separate body bags. In a follow-up video, he explained that he took the babies for routine immunisation on the morning of December 24, 2025.
According to him, the twins began showing unusual reactions shortly after the injections, becoming extremely weak and inactive. He said they could no longer eat, play, or behave as they normally did.
“It happened that the immunisation was on the 24th of December, and on the morning of the 25th, they died,” he said.
Alozie explained that after noticing their rising temperature, he and his wife followed the nurse’s instruction by giving the babies paracetamol, but their condition did not improve. In an attempt to reduce the fever, his wife also bathed them with cold water, yet their health continued to deteriorate.
“They were very weak after the injection. The drug weakened them to the extent they couldn’t eat or play like before,” he said.
The twins reportedly died at the same time on Christmas Day, a loss Alozie described as devastating and unimaginable.
“My children were not sick. They were strong and sound. Just nine months old, and now they are gone,” he lamented.
He stressed that since their birth, the twins had never suffered any serious illness and that he had consistently taken them for routine immunisation.
“From the day they were born, I’ve always taken them for immunisation, not because they were sick,” he said.
Alozie also pointed out that the nurse who administered the final injections was not the usual health worker who had previously attended to his children.
Reacting to claims allegedly made by the health centre that the deaths were caused by food-related bacteria, the distraught father dismissed the explanation.
“How can food bacteria kill my children? The same food I have been giving them from one month to nine months didn’t kill them before,” he questioned.
Although an autopsy has reportedly been conducted, Alozie expressed fears that the outcome might be manipulated to protect the government-owned health facility. He appealed for legal and public support, saying he lacks the financial capacity to pursue justice on his own.
“Please, if you’re a lawyer or human rights activist, help me. This is government to government, and without support, I may not get justice,” he said.
Despite burying his sons, Alozie said he remains determined to seek accountability, insisting that their deaths should not be swept under the carpet.
As of the time of this report, the Lagos State Ministry of Health and the Primary Health Care Board have not issued an official statement on the incident or the autopsy findings.
