Genevieve Nnaji Defends Igbo Women in Response to Advice for Men to Marry East African Women

Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji has weighed in on a controversial social media thread where a user advised Igbo men to marry East African women instead of Igbo women. The discussion began after a tweet about an Enugu woman who allegedly accused her husband of raping two children. The user wrote: “This is what am talking about! Dear Igbo men, instead of marrying Igbo woman that’ll falsely accuse you of raping your daughter, better look outside for wife. Go to East Africa, especially this Rwanda and pick a damsel. They’re all over social media and you can link up with them.” Genevieve responded sharply: “In other words, instead of checking yourself and taking accountability, go for the unsuspecting and carry on with your evil. Got it.” Another user challenged her reply, noting: “His tweet was clearly against false rape accusers, but instead of holding the evil women accountable and demanding change, you chose to tweet this?” Genevieve clarified her stance, writing: “The same way a woman can’t tell an abusive man apart from a good one is the same way you shouldn’t say avoid all Igbo women. ‘Not all women’.” Her comments have sparked conversations online about accountability, gender, and the dangers of generalizations, highlighting the complexities of discussions around cultural and social issues in Nigeria.

Regina Daniels Exposes Ned Nwoko: Accuses Senator of Drugs, Manipulation, and Threats in Explosive Instagram Rant

Regina Daniels has once again gone public with disturbing claims about her deteriorating marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko, sharing an emotional series of posts on Instagram where she accused him of mounting pressure, manipulation, and calculated attempts to destroy her reputation. The actress described her current reality as a battle for freedom after years of feeling controlled. She accused the senator of targeting her both publicly and privately, saying his actions are designed to tarnish her image at a time when she is trying to rebuild her life. In her words: “Ned can you actually leave me alone ?? Why are you trying so hard to ruin me Publicly and privately because you know in my part of the world, a good reputation equals money. Don’t forget the media loves entertainment and I am an entertainer but I’m tiredddd !!” Regina stated that her troubles began when she was just a teenager, claiming that her life was “trapped” at 17. She accused Nwoko of weaponizing drug allegations against her in an attempt to gain custody of their children. She insisted the only drug she ever took was ecstasy, which she alleges he introduced her to. She also claimed that his own use of Viagra caused recurring health scares that she frequently had to manage. She added: “Coming with a fake drug report just because you want to take custody of my kids is insane and demeaning of your personality.” Regina went on to allege that people within Nwoko’s inner circle informed her that he had been labeling her a drug addict and insisting she needed rehabilitation. She interpreted this as a strategy to undermine her in any legal or public battle. Despite claiming to know damaging information about him, she said she had withheld it out of respect for their children — but warned that her patience was wearing thin. Her warning was clear: “If you don’t leave me alone I’m going to dig, spill everything whether murder case, land grabbing, fraud etc… as the father of my kids, I know health wise you are not sound and I don’t want to send you to your early grave respect your self!” Regina also revealed that she had left what she described as a dangerous home environment. According to her, stepping away from the household was necessary for her sanity, and she now hopes to reclaim the future she believes she almost lost. She described feeling mentally suffocated, saying she had been moving in circles with no progress. She wrote: “Guy’s this man is choking me and it’s driving me crazy! Y’all don’t know half bit. I just want to be free! My life feels spherical just turning in same place.” In her posts, Regina said she endured years of public criticism while staying loyal to their marriage. She now accuses Nwoko of attempting to erase that loyalty by painting her in the worst possible light. She urged him to move on with the new wife he once said he would marry and leave her in peace. She ended her outpour with a message to his constituents: “People of Delta North your senator has left his responsibilities and focused on small me.” Nwoko has not issued a response to her latest claims, but her revelations have sparked widespread reactions across social media as observers express concern over the escalating tension between the couple.

Baba Ijesha Was Not Acquitted, Released After Serving Jail Term – Lagos AG Lawal Pedro

Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro, has clarified that actor Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, was not released due to an acquittal by the Court of Appeal. Pedro described claims suggesting otherwise as “false, misleading and irresponsible.” He said the confusion began after actor Yomi Fabiyi posted online that the appellate court had cleared Baba Ijesha of all charges, including sexual offences involving a minor—a claim that was later shared by an online platform. “No such clearance occurred at any stage of the judicial process,” Pedro emphasized, warning that the statements distorted court records and could mislead the public. He outlined the legal timeline, noting that on July 14, 2022, the Lagos High Court convicted Baba Ijesha of sexual assault and indecent treatment of a child for incidents that occurred in 2021, sentencing him to five and three years, to run concurrently. “On June 28, 2024, the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, delivered judgment on his appeal. While the court set aside convictions relating to alleged offences from 2013–2014, it upheld the conviction and sentence for the 2021 sexual assault charges,” Pedro said. He further explained that Baba Ijesha’s appeal to the Supreme Court was struck out on May 29, 2025, for incompetence, and a subsequent motion to file a fresh appeal was dismissed on October 9, 2025, leaving the Appeal Court judgment intact. Pedro stressed that Baba Ijesha was released solely because he completed his jail term, reiterating, “Mr. Olanrewaju James was not cleared.” The Attorney-General warned Fabiyi and any platform spreading the false narrative to desist, noting that the state could initiate criminal proceedings under Section 39 of the Lagos Criminal Law for publishing false news.

D’Banj Reflects On Mo’Hits Split, Says Don Jazzy Initiated The Breakup

D’Banj has shed new light on the end of Mo’Hits Records, explaining that the decision to disband was entirely Don Jazzy’s call. Speaking with Seun Okinbaloye, he explained that the split wasn’t fueled by bad blood but by a difference in direction and timing, which eventually pushed both of them toward new phases of growth. He praised Don Jazzy for making the transition smooth, especially by transferring full ownership of his catalog — including several unreleased records — a gesture he described as pivotal in keeping his career intact. Looking back at their final major collaboration, Oliver Twist, he described it as a breakthrough moment that helped propel him to a wider global audience. D’Banj shared: “It didn’t come from me, the idea to go our separate ways didn’t come from me, it came from Don Jazzy 100%. That’s why we’re still cool, and that’s why he gave me 100 percent of my catalog, even 10 other songs I haven’t released. It’s not about the record label for me, it’s about the movement and future.” “For me personally, even though it was a journey and he had his opinions, I knew that we needed to cement that global movement, and I’m glad that, in the end, God still made it happen for us.” The idea to break from Don Jazzy didn't come from me – DbanjFind out more via the link below:https://t.co/lYVDjqfWQZ You can watch the full show via our YouTube channel See the link below:https://t.co/RMXssrK3tT…#miconpodcast pic.twitter.com/jIu6AAO2Fv — MIC ON PODCAST (@Themiconshow) November 16, 2025
