Miss Universe first runner-up Chidimma Adetshina has revealed that she almost gave up during her difficult times. Adetshina who is law student and model born and raised in South Africa represented her father’s country Nigeria in this year’s beauty pageant. She withdrew from the ten finalists of Miss South Africa in August after facing xenophobic attacks on social media. And four months later, she became the first runner-up to Miss Denmark who was crowned Miss Universe 2024. “To Nigeria: Thank you is not enough for all the support you’ve shown. You picked me up when I was at my lowest. “I’ve never opened up much but I was ready to give up on my life but you became my strenght to fight. “I’m so grateful for each and everyone for walking this journey with me. “To Africa: Thank you for showing your love and support. As much as I represent Nigeria, Africa fought for me. My voice, my story touched many and brought us together, This journey has taught me the power of unity, I want us to live in a society where we can all accept and celebeate one another. “This is not the end but the beginning of my journey. “Love Miss Universe 1st runner,” wrote after emerging runner-up at Miss Universe pageant. Meanwhile, the Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has hailed the emergence of Chidimma Adetshina, on her emergence as the first runner-up at the 2024 Miss Universe. Adetshina, Nigeria’s representative at the 73rd Miss Universe Competition held in Mexico, trailed behind Denmark’s Victoria Kjaer Theilvig who was crowned the winner of the contest. In a statement on Sunday by her media aide, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the NiDCOM boss described Miss Adetshina’s feat as a “reward for her doggedness and resilience.” Dabiri-Erewa expressed excitement that despite all odds, Chidimma remained focused and attained her goals. She recalled “Adetshina’s controversial official withdrawal from the Miss South Africa 2024 contest, of which she had advanced to the final stage , some few months back, noting that Nigeria warmly welcomed her, after being literally forced out of South Africa,” the statement read. “Describing her as brilliant, focussed and determined, she urged others to emulate the spirit of Nigerianess in Chidimma by being proud of the country and not run it down under whatever guise.” The beauty queen was warmly received at the NIDCOM Lagos office, and thereafter hosted to a grand reception at Idris Olorunnibe’s “The Temple,” Victoria Island, with music legend, D’banj in attendance.
Chidinma Adetshina crowned first runner-up at Miss Universe 2024
Nigeria’s representative at the 73rd Miss Universe Pageant, Chidinma Onwe Adetshina, placed first runner-up, while Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjr Theilvig, won the title. Chidinma battled Victoria in the last seconds of the competition, which took place early on Sunday morning at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico, but she ended up placing second. The contest which honoured the skills, knowledge, and grace of women from all around the world was hailed by close watchers as one of the most exciting in recent memory. 126 women representing nations throughout the world competed fiercely in this year’s 73rd Miss Universe pageant, which included 18 contestants from African countries like Nigeria, Angola, and Egypt. During the contest, Chidinma started in the top 30 finalists and reached the top five, eventually finishing in the top two with Victoria Theilvig. Before the winner was revealed, the last two competitors had to endure a final parade and two rounds of questions in the final stages. Third, fourth, and fifth place went to Mexico, Thailand, and Venezuela respectively. In addition to wearing the coveted crown, Theilvig will travel to 30 countries as the 2024 Miss Universe. A year’s worth of jewelry and cosmetics will also be given to her, and for the first time in Miss Universe history, the winner will host a travel show.

Controversial crossdresser, Okuneye Idris, popularly known as Bobrisky, has vowed not to reveal the identity of his godfather. After denying that audio that was widely circulated was Artificial Intelligence generated, Bobrisky on Thursday, admitted that he has a godfather in a post on his Instagram page. According to the social media influencer said he won’t revealed the identity of his backer despite the curiosity of some certain persons. Charles Olumo dies at 101
Veteran actor, Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, popularly known as Charles Olumo and Agbako, is dead. This was made known in a statement by the president of Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) , Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin on Instagram on Thursday. He wrote, “#tampanglobal announces the passing of Pa Charles Olumo Sanyaolu, fondly known as AGBAKO. Details of the burial arrangements will be shared at a later time. Good night father, 25/02/1923 to 31/10/2024.” Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, also confirmed Agbako’s demise as he wrote: “Good night ooo, Baba Charles. a.k.a Agbako, 101 years, ba wasa ba. R I P.” Agbako clocked 101st this year.
Bobrisky falls ill, rushed to hospital
Controversial crossdresser, Okuneye Idris, popularly known as Bobrisky, has reportedly fallen ill while in detention at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos. After spending the night in a police cell, Bobrisky was rushed to Falomo Police Hospital for medical attention. A source confirmed the development, stating that he was transferred from the FCID to the hospital for treatment. The source said, “Bobrisky complained of ‘breast’ pain and was rushed to the Police Hospital in the Falomo area of Lagos around 2:00 p.m. in an ambulance with the plate number LND 339L. He wore a black gown, covered his face with a shawl, and lay down in the ambulance.” Bobrisky was taken into custody on Monday night by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) following his arrest at the Seme border in Lagos during an alleged attempt to leave the country. There are indications that he may remain in detention as detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his arrest. The FCID is expected to obtain a remand order for his continued detention. A statement from the FCID regarding Bobrisky’s situation is expected later today. NIS spokesperson, Kenneth Udo, confirmed the arrest, describing Bobrisky as “a person of interest.” He further stated that the NIS had intercepted him at the Seme border as part of their efforts to secure Nigeria’s borders.
