KWAM 1’s Daughter, Dami Marshall, Denies Dating Rumours With Asake
Dami Marshall, daughter of Fuji music icon King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, has dismissed rumours linking her romantically with Nigerian singer Asake. Speculation about a possible relationship began after Dami shared a photo of herself with the “Mr Money” crooner at an event, captioning it “Mr Money and Mrs Money.” The post quickly sparked reactions across social media, with blogs and fans suggesting the pair might be dating. However, Dami has since shut down the rumours, clarifying that there is no romantic relationship between her and the singer. According to her, the photo was taken during her first-ever meeting with Asake, and the caption was not meant to imply anything beyond a playful moment. “Guys, that was my first time meeting him [Asake], so I took a picture. Do not believe blogs, they can do anything for traffic,” she wrote on her Instagram page. Her statement effectively puts an end to the speculation that had gained traction online. Asake, on his part, is not publicly known to be in any romantic relationship since his reported breakup with his Gambian girlfriend, Madame Mystique, in 2014.
Nigeria Needs Selfless Leaders Ready to Make Ultimate Sacrifice – Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde
Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has said Nigeria is in dire need of leaders who are willing to go the extra mile—even to the point of making ultimate sacrifices—for the good of the country. The actress made the remarks on Sunday during an interview on Channels Television, where she spoke on Nigeria’s political future ahead of the 2027 general elections. Omotola lamented the country’s continued struggles despite its enormous human and natural resources, describing the situation as deeply unfortunate. “It’s unfortunate that we’re still where we are now. We have everything that every other nation wants and is clamouring for,” she said. According to her, true national liberation would only be possible if leaders were courageous and selfless enough to take tough decisions, regardless of personal cost. “I wish that our leaders can be bold enough to take some decisions to liberate this country even if it means dying for Nigeria,” she stated. She emphasized that no nation is immune from chaos, noting that law, order and enforcement are what keep societies stable. “Every nation can become very bad or terrible. Even America can be the most lawless country if there were no laws or enforcement,” Omotola said. She added that effective leadership begins with strong institutions and the will to enforce laws, stressing that Nigeria needs leaders who genuinely place the country above personal interest. “So my prayer for Nigeria is that we actually get and find leaders who are selfless and ready to die for this country,” she said. The actress also criticised political rhetoric often used by aspirants, suggesting that many professed displays of patriotism are insincere. “We saw the people coming to say ‘I love Nigeria. I was poor. I did not have one shoe.’ All are lies. They don’t care,” she added.
Actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde Reveals Her Children Received Death Threats During EndSARS Protests
Veteran Nollywood actress and social activist Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has opened up on the frightening experiences her family endured during the EndSARS protests, revealing that her children were targeted with death threats. Speaking on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds on Sunday, the 48-year-old actress said the threats marked a major turning point in her years-long advocacy, forcing her to reassess how she engages in activism. Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde disclosed that while she had grown accustomed to receiving threats due to her outspoken nature, the EndSARS period was different and far more intense. “I am used to death threats; I have received them many times. But I have never seen anything like what happened during EndSARS,” she said. According to her, the situation escalated when her children also began receiving threats, making the danger deeply personal. “That was when it became real, and when I realised this was no longer just about me,” she explained. The actress further revealed that unknown individuals began visiting her home and workplace in search of her, prompting her to prioritize the safety of her family. “When people started coming to my home and workplace looking for me, I knew it was time to think beyond myself. I had to protect others, especially my children,” she added. Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde said the experience ultimately led her to move away from street protests in favour of more strategic and focused advocacy, noting that protecting her children has become increasingly challenging as they grow older. “I can’t control where they go. I can’t protect them as much. I don’t care for my life, but I do care for them,” she said.
Actress Fathia Balogun Loses Mother Days After 55th Birthday
Popular Nollywood actress Fathia Balogun has been thrown into mourning following the death of her mother over the weekend. The actress shared the heartbreaking news via her Instagram page, revealing that her mother passed away on Saturday, February 7, just a day before the birthday party held in celebration of her 55th birthday on Sunday. According to Fathia, she was deliberately not informed of her mother’s passing until after the party, as her family members wanted her to enjoy the occasion without distress. In an emotional post, the actress described her late mother as her cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and confidant, noting that the reality of her loss had yet to fully sink in. “Unbeknownst to me, my beloved mother died on the eve of my party and the news was cruelly kept away from me,” she wrote. Fathia said she has taken solace in Allah (SWT) during the difficult period, adding that her family has decided to keep arrangements private for now. She also appealed for prayers and support for herself and her siblings, stating that burial details will be announced later. Yul Edochie Explains Why He Doesn’t Share Photos of Children With Estranged Wife
Popular Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has opened up on why he no longer posts pictures of his children with his estranged wife, May Edochie, amid sustained criticism on social media. Yul addressed the issue during an interview with Kel Armstrong Amobi on the KAA Truth podcast, following backlash over his frequent posts about his second wife, Judy Austin, and her children. The actor dismissed claims that he had abandoned his children with May, insisting that he remains in constant contact with them and continues to support them financially. He disclosed that he recently sent money to his second son through his mother’s bank account to ensure proper records. “I’ve heard a lot of things about people saying I abandoned my children. Sometimes I read those things and I laugh. If my children never come to you to complain, it’s funny because I’m in contact with my children,” he said. Yul revealed that his second son recently gained admission into the university and completed his matriculation, noting that they communicated ahead of the ceremony. Although he was unable to attend due to his busy schedule, he congratulated his son and encouraged him. He added that his son later sent him pictures from the matriculation, countering online claims that he was out of touch with his children. “This is the same son they’re saying I’m not in contact with. You can’t set a camera to debunk everything. I chatted with my son yesterday and sent him money today through the mother, so the payment is properly documented,” he explained. Addressing why he avoids posting his children online, Yul clarified that there is an ongoing divorce case and a court order restricting him from sharing anything related to his children on social media for their safety. “No matter what happened, it shouldn’t affect the children. There’s a court order saying that anything that has to do with my children, I shouldn’t post for their own safety,” he said. The actor disclosed that his second son is 17 years old, while the younger child is about eight, stressing that his decision not to post them online should not be mistaken for lack of love. “So it’s not like I don’t love them. They are my blood,” he added.

Veteran Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has opened up about personal and professional choices he says he now regrets, admitting that some moments in his life were shaped by emotional pressure and poor judgment. The award-winning artiste made the disclosure during a recent appearance on the Mic On podcast, where he reflected on lessons learned from difficult experiences both in his career and private life. According to the father of six, there are several situations he wishes he had handled differently, especially during periods of intense stress. 2Baba also revisited a controversial incident in London in October 2025, which involved a disagreement with his wife, Natasha Osawaru, and resulted in his arrest. Taking full responsibility, the singer admitted that his actions at the time were driven by anger. “I was angry that day. It was an unfortunate incident,” he said. The African Queen crooner explained that balancing personal struggles with life in the public eye has often been challenging, noting that the pressure can sometimes cloud judgment and affect decision-making. “There are so many things I wish I could rewind and do better. As a human being, there are times when you are overwhelmed or don’t make the best decisions. My thick-skin is weaker now,” he added. 2Baba concluded by saying that the experiences have made him more reflective, teaching him important lessons about accountability, emotional control, and personal growth, as he continues to evolve both as an artist and as an individual.

Diddy’s Appeal Court Date Fast-Tracked to April
Sean “Diddy” Combs is preparing to formally present his appeal in court following a major legal breakthrough that could significantly speed up the process. The Bad Boy Records founder, who is currently serving a four-year prison sentence over felony charges linked to sex crimes, has secured approval for an accelerated appellate review, allowing his appeal to move forward much sooner than is typical in federal cases. According to AllHipHop, a federal appellate judge has signed off on an expedited schedule, clearing the path for oral arguments to be heard within the next few months. The appeal process, which often stretches up to 18 months, has been dramatically compressed at the request of Diddy’s legal team. Court documents indicate that proceedings are now expected to begin on April 9, although the precise timetable remains subject to adjustments as both the prosecution and defence finalize and exchange their written briefs. Despite the fast-tracking, Diddy’s projected release date remains May 8, 2028, unless the appeal leads to a reduction or reversal of his sentence. Still, the development marks a crucial moment in the embattled music mogul’s legal battle, giving him his first real opportunity to challenge the conviction before an appellate bench. As the case moves closer to oral arguments, attention will now turn to the strength of Diddy’s legal strategy and whether the accelerated process could alter the trajectory of one of the most high-profile celebrity cases in recent years
