2Baba And Natasha Osawaru Welcome Baby Girl As Congratulations Flood In
Congratulations have continued to trail music legend 2Face Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, and his wife, Natasha Osawaru, after reports emerged that the couple have welcomed their first child together. Speculation started late Friday when Natasha — who also represents Edo State in the House of Assembly — was seen at a hospital, sparking talk that she was set to give birth. Not long after, she confirmed the news herself. In a brief Facebook post, Natasha announced the arrival of their baby girl with the simple message: “It’s a Girl.” Her post immediately triggered a wave of reactions online as fans, colleagues and well-wishers sent in their heartfelt congratulations. Social media users praised the couple, with one person writing, “Love this for 2Baba and Natasha. God bless their new home,” while another joked, “2Baba doesn’t waste time… Aww, welcome baby girl.” The child’s arrival comes months after 2Baba officially ended his marriage to Annie Macaulay. Their separation, announced earlier in the year, was later confirmed by Annie during the 17th Headies Awards. Following the split, 2Baba and Natasha publicly formalised their relationship and later sealed it with a traditional wedding ceremony, moving forward as a new family.

Obesere’s Show Turns Violent As Thugs Invade Okitipupa Burial Ceremony
Fuji star Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere found himself at the centre of a violent disturbance during a burial ceremony in Okitipupa, Ondo State, after a group of suspected thugs stormed the event and attacked his entourage. The clash happened on Friday at the Government Field, where Obesere had been invited to perform. The gathering was already underway when troublemakers reportedly pushed their way into the venue and confronted members of his band, turning the atmosphere tense within minutes. Amid the disorder, one member of the band was said to have been stabbed while trying to protect the rest of the team from the attackers. His condition was still uncertain as at the time of the incident. Guests were thrown into panic as the violence spread. One attendee, Bosede Akinyemi, who witnessed the scene, said the ceremony collapsed into confusion as people ran for safety. She recalled that the intruders damaged the band’s instruments and assaulted some of Obesere’s crew. “I was at the party. It was a very shameful act as a group of boys—known thugs in the community—caused trouble. They attacked Obesere and his band while they were performing. They descended on some of his boys and destroyed his musical equipment,” she said. Local Government chairman Hon. Andrew Ogunsakin denounced the incident, expressing displeasure over the treatment of the musician and his crew. He described the attack as unacceptable and out of character for the community. “I received the news of the unfortunate mistreatment meted out to Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere and his team at the Government Field, Okitipupa, with deep disappointment and utmost distaste. This incident is unacceptable and does not reflect the values we uphold as a people,” he noted. He added that he would reach out personally to Obesere and promised a full review of the incident to prevent a recurrence.

2Face Idibia Named National Fire Safety Ambassador To Promote Nationwide Awareness
The Federal Government has named music icon and humanitarian Innocent “2Face” Idibia as its National Fire Safety Ambassador, assigning him the role of promoting fire prevention awareness and encouraging safer practices across Nigeria. The announcement was made on Friday in Abuja by the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Samuel Adeyemi, during the closing ceremony of the 2025 National Fire Safety Week held at the Service’s Headquarters. The event, themed “Building a Culture of Fire Safety Across Nigeria: Overcoming the ‘Not My Portion’ Mentality,” highlighted the need for citizens to take personal responsibility in preventing fire-related incidents. Adeyemi, represented by Deputy Controller General Aliyu Tambari, recalled that the week began with a virtual town hall, followed by the presentation of Bankers’ Cheques under the Group Life Insurance Scheme to families of fallen and injured fire officers. The week also featured the presentation of the “CG’s Cup” and medals sponsored by Kabir Lateef to recognise and motivate Fire Service personnel. Nationwide sensitisation campaigns were carried out in schools, markets, and major commercial hubs, including street roadshows, drills, and practical demonstrations to equip citizens with fire prevention knowledge. Adeyemi described the public response as “remarkable,” noting increased interest and renewed national commitment to fire safety. Certificates and awards were presented to individuals and institutions demonstrating exemplary compliance with safety standards and active community engagement. Special recognition was given to 2Face Idibia, whose influence is expected to amplify public messaging, inspire behavioural change, and connect millions of Nigerians to the national fire safety agenda. “As a National Fire Safety Ambassador, we expect him to inspire a new generation to embrace a culture of safety,” Adeyemi said. The Controller General reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to strengthening training, modernising operations, improving coordination with other agencies, and deepening community engagement, stressing that fire safety is a continuous responsibility, not a one-time event. He also thanked the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, civil society groups, corporate partners, community leaders, and fire officers for their contributions to the success of Safety Week.
Chief Priest Confident Nnamdi Kanu Can Be Freed After Call With Deputy Speaker
Cubana Chief Priest has issued a fresh message to Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu following the life imprisonment slammed on Nnamdi Kanu, saying he now believes there is renewed hope for Kanu’s release. He revealed that he spent more than 42 minutes on a phone call with the deputy speaker, during which he was assured that the situation is no longer hopeless. “I have been on call for over 42 mins with the Deputy Speaker and from all he briefed me all hopes are not lost. MNK will get freedom hopefully because it’s now the President can take action as matter don comort from court,” he wrote. Chief Priest described Kalu as a man of action, adding that the only reason supporters were frustrated earlier is because they were not being updated on the efforts taking place behind the scenes. “The Deputy Speaker is not a weak man as I stated earlier. He is an action man, is just that they failed to brief us the people with the process of their support to secure MNK release. All hopes are not yet lost,” he stated. He appealed directly to President Bola Tinubu to consider the delegation coming to meet him, insisting that releasing Kanu would help reset and stabilise the South-East. “Your votes are secured. The delegation coming to meet you, please listen to them sir. As long as you help us by letting MNK come home to us to fix Southeast. Just do you. 8 years dey go. Person wey cause this problem don die make the matter sef die. Since his detention Southeast has failed woefully. We need to be on the rise again,” he wrote. Chief Priest also revealed that his conversation with Kalu has now given him access to visit Kanu, adding that he would soon meet him in person. “I will be visiting MNK soon with DS as this conversation has helped me gain access. Make I go see Onye Ndu Ndi Igbo MNK one on one.” This update comes shortly after he criticised President Tinubu over the sentencing, warning that the president would not receive “10,000 votes in the South-East” as long as Kanu remains in detention.
