Lagos warns Nightclubs against overcrowding
The Lagos State Safety Commission has observed a concerning trend of overcrowding in several clubs and lounges across the city in recent days. This was recently disclosed by the Director-General/CEO, Lagos Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola, who stated that despite the Government’s support of the vibrant nightlife and the economic benefits it brings, it must be emphasised that there is a paramount need for nightclub owners/operators to strictly adhere to the authorised occupancy limits as approved by the Commission. According to him, on no account should any nightclub allow overcrowding, which poses significant safety risks, including the potential for fire hazards, smoking in public spaces, compromised emergency exits, and increased likelihood of accidents. These risks, he said, endanger not only the lives of patrons but also the staff and the general public. Mojola noted that the State Government strongly urge all owners and operators of hospitality venues to strictly comply with the safety measures and occupancy limits set forth by the Lagos State Safety Commission. These regulations are in place to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone. He disclosed further that the Commission has commenced rigorous inspections to ensure compliance, adding that any establishment found to violate these safety regulations will face immediate closure and further legal actions as deemed necessary. He declared that the Commission appreciates the cooperation of all stakeholders in maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all, saying, “Let us work together to keep Lagos safe and thriving”. The Government, therefore, enjoined stakeholders to contact the Commission on 07000SAFETY for further guidance on compliance.
Sola Sobowale celebrates 59th birthday
Frontline Nollywood actor Sola Sobowale on Wednesday marked her 59th birthday. Trendbrio.com can report. The thespian took to her X handle formerly Twitter to celebrate her day. An elated Sobowale gorgoeus dressed in a pictured flowing gown wrote; “Lord you are faithful and true… “I am grateful for another year added on to my life.” Meanwhile, congratulatory messages from her top musical art and other Nollywoods actors which includes; Queen Salawa Abeni, film marketer Alhaji Kasim Adeoti, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Akin Olaiya, Allwell Ademola, Regina Askia, Broda Shagi, Sunkanmi Omobolanle, Eniola Ajao, Kehinde Bankole, Kie Kie, Gabriel Afolayan, Wumi Toriola and Yemi Solade. Sobowale had her big break in 2001, in the premiere of Nigeria’s popular television drama series Super Story: Oh Father, Oh Daughter. She has also won several movie awards to her credit.
Breaking: Music icons, Asake, Olamide part ways
Popular Nigerian singer and rapper Ahmed Ololade also known as Asake has reportedly parted ways with Olamide and his record label, YBNL Nation. Media claims have it that the Afrobeat musician unfollowed his erstwhile boss on all social media and have not showed up at any of Olamide’s organised gigs in the recent time. The rumours however became rifle social media personality, Emmanuel Philip, aka Naijashimadun addressed the issues between singers. Just recently, the relationship between Asake and Olamide started raising questions after it was seen that the Lonely At The Top crooner had unfollowed his record label boss on Instagram and also removed YBNL from his bio. According to him, Olamide recently had his December concert in Lagos but Asake was nowhere to be found even though he was supposed to be one of the first people at the venue. Asake unfollows everyone on Instagram including Olamide, removes YBNL from his bio: “Contract ended.” Naijashimadun advised Asake and Olamide to settle their differences because they are a family. He said: “Asake, your senior brother, Olamide, had an event some days ago. You were supposed to be the first person there arranging chairs even before guests arrive but we didn’t even see you at all, we can’t even see you anywhere in Nigeria right now. I also went to your Instagram page, it has become a desert, I even checked to be sure it was the right page. You have removed your YBNL record label from the page and replaced it with ‘creative director’. “Anything that is happening between you and your senior brother, you will both need to settle it. It’s a family case. Go and meet your brother and find ways to settle it.”
Pasuma denies acquiring new automobile
Fuji music act Wasiu Alabi Odetola popularly known as Pasuma Wonder has denied claims on social media that he has added another automobile to his garage. The musician, who recently celebrated 40 years on stage, stated that he vehicle as displayed on the social media does not belong to him. “I believe there is need for clarity that the vehicle as claimed is mine, does not belong to me. “I don’t live fake life and there is no way I will buy a new car that pictures and video will not be posted. “I have not bought a new vehicle but I’m going to do so in 2025,” Pasuma stated this on statge at a recent gig.
Dino Melaye denies marriage plans
A former Senator and member of the 8th Nigeria National Assembly, representing Kogi West Senatorial district Dino Melaye has denied remarrying as claimed on social media. According to a post on Facebook, the Senator was said to be planning to solmnise union with a Lagos-based businesswoman at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ogudu on December 26. The invite indicated that Fuji Music Icon Wasiu Ayinde (K1 D’Ultimate) will be on stand to entertain guests at the wedding reception. The Senator however took to social media to deny the claims saying: “419 taken too far. “General Public i dont know this person talkless of marriage. “Even for film it can’t happen. “SDM is not available ooo.” In 2015 he defected to All Progressives Congress (APC) but returned to PDP in the build-up to 2019 elections after months of political struggle with Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello. He was chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja and briefly chairman of the Senate Committee on Aviation in Nigeria. He was the spokesperson of 2023 presidential candidate of People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.

Nollywood actor Dayo Amusa welcomes baby boy in US
Nollywood actor Dayo Amusa has officially announced the arrival of her new baby boy, who was born in the United States. An elated Actor took to her Instagram page to break the news and also share the pictures of the baby. Dayo expressed her gratitude to God, writing, “Alhamdulillahi. My treasure has arrived. It’s a boy.” The post received an outpouring of congratulations and well-wishes from colleagues, friends, and fans. Davido to donate N300m to Orphanage homes
A Nigerian singer David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has pledged to donate the sum of N300million to Orphanage homes across the country. Davido made the pledge on his official X handle on Monday. The Songwriter stated that the donation to the Orphanage homes is to celebrate his 32nd birthday on November 21. He wrote; “Once again, my birthday this year we are donating to orphanages and charity that helps young people stay away from drug and addiction. “This year is N300m. “Details to folow soon.” Davido founded the Davido Adeleke Foundation in 2022 with the help of other charitable organisations, in a bid to help vulnerable children. In July 2023, he proudly announced the foundation donated over 200 million to orphanages in the country and 13,818 children benefited from it. In the press release posted at the time, he said: “I founded the DAF in 2022 with a strong desire and passion to continually assist and create a proper framework for the ongoing charitable works to benefit the good people of Nigeria. Through this Foundation we have raised millions of Naira and dispersed much-needed funds to hundreds of orphanages significantly improving the lives of countless children.” The charitable tradition began back in 2021 after the singer’s birthday, when he made over ₦200 million in donations after sharing his bank account details on his Twitter (now X) page. After amassing the large sum of money, the singer announced that he planned to donate it all to orphanages across Nigeria, “I am delighted to announce that all the funds received totaling ₦200,000,000 will be donated to orphanages across Nigeria as well as the Paroche Foundation,” he said.Keeping to his word, he disbursed the funds after adding ₦50 million.
