Burna Boy Makes History As I Told Them Tour Becomes Africa’s Highest-Grossing Tour
Burna Boy has rewritten African music history after his I Told Them tour emerged as the highest-grossing tour ever by an African artist.
Tour figures released by a concert tracking platform show that the global run generated $30.5 million from 302,801 tickets sold across 22 shows in Europe and North America. The achievement places the Grammy-winning singer at the top of the continent’s touring records.
Confirming the milestone, the platform noted that the I Told Them tour now stands as the most successful Afrobeat tour in terms of revenue, surpassing all previous benchmarks.
The tour also produced another historic moment on June 29, 2024, when Burna Boy sold out London Stadium. The concert pulled in $6.147 million from 58,973 tickets, making it the highest-grossing single show by any African artist.
A breakdown of the tour’s earnings shows strong performances on both sides of the Atlantic. North America accounted for $15.19 million from 152,378 tickets sold across 16 shows, while European dates brought in $15.27 million from 150,423 tickets over six concerts.
With these records, Burna Boy has further cemented his status as a global force in Afrobeat, extending the genre’s reach and commercial power on the world stage.
