Bella Shmurda Bemoans Rising Cost Of Music Promotion, Says Videos Now Start At N20 Million
Bella Shmurda has opened up about the financial struggles musicians face in promoting their work, especially albums.
In a recent interview, the singer explained that the high cost of music promotion has made many artists hesitant to release full projects. He noted that producing and promoting multiple songs at once demands a massive budget.
“To release an album, you need a huge budget, unlike singles. Because for albums, you’re promoting 10 to 14 songs all at once. It’s a lot,” Bella said.
He revealed that music video production is one of the biggest expenses, with the least cost now around N20 million. “Promoting songs on radio, shooting videos for five or six tracks—it’s a lot. These days, the least you can spend on a music video is N20 million. So how many artists can afford to shoot five videos?”
Bella emphasized that the rising costs are discouraging many talented artists from putting out albums, pushing them instead to focus on singles.
