Barack Obama Celebrates 33 Years of Marriage With Michelle Obama
Former President Barack Obama took to Instagram to celebrate his 33rd wedding anniversary with Michelle Obama, sharing a heartfelt message alongside a rare selfie of the couple.
“The best decision I ever made was marrying you, Michelle Obama. For 33 years, I’ve admired your strength, grace, and determination—and the fact that you look so good doing it all. Happy anniversary!” he wrote.
In the photo, Michelle looks elegant in a strapless black feathered dress with gold earrings and red lipstick, while Barack is sharp in a black suit.
Michelle shared her own tribute, writing: “We’ve been on quite the journey over the last 33 years—and yet, I love you even more today than the day we said ‘I do.’ Happy anniversary, @BarackObama!”
The couple first met in 1989 at the Sidley Austin law firm in Chicago, where Michelle was assigned as Barack’s mentor. Their relationship grew over time, leading to their marriage in 1992.
