Fire Breaks Out At Civil Service Headquarters In Abuja, No Casualties Reported

A fire broke out on Monday morning at the headquarters of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in Abuja, causing panic among workers and visitors. Thick smoke was reported rising from a section of the federal civil service building, prompting a swift response from emergency teams. Officials said the cause of the fire had not been confirmed, though early reports suggest it may have resulted from a power surge within the facility. The Federal Fire Service and other emergency responders were quickly deployed, with firefighters seen working to control the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the building. Security personnel cordoned off affected areas to ensure that emergency operations could proceed safely and without interruption. There were no immediate reports of casualties, and authorities plan to carry out a full assessment of the damage once the fire is fully extinguished. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge.

Pastor Ibiyomie Claims Spiritual Intervention Secured Wike’s Rivers Governorship And Re-Election

Pastor David Ibiyomie of Salvation Ministry has claimed that he played a key spiritual role in helping Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, secure the governorship of Rivers State. During a sermon at the church’s Port Harcourt headquarters, Ibiyomie said he first met Wike when the politician’s election victory was in serious jeopardy. In a video circulating online, the pastor recounted, “Wike lost in the High Court, lost in the Appeal Court, and the Supreme Court had passed judgement against him becoming governor. I called him while I was in Israel; he was shaking, but I told him not to fear. I assured him God would intervene. He said, ‘Papa, I believe you.’ At the time, he was in PDP while APC was in power, and we were holding five nights of Glory. After the program, Wike approached me on Tuesday, with judgement scheduled for Friday. I told him that even if the judgement was against him, I command it to turn around. He had no money then, being in the opposition. When everything turned in his favour, he said, ‘Papa, I knew this is God.’ I was the only priest invited during his Thanksgiving.” Ibiyomie also said he intervened spiritually during Wike’s re-election when winning again seemed unlikely. “During his second attempt, it looked like he would lose. Plans were already in place to ensure his defeat. Someone approached me saying, ‘You prayed for Wike; let’s see how he wins.’ He was shaking, so I covenanted with God. I gave millions to God on his behalf, without telling him. I said, ‘Lord, not for his sake, but for my sake,’” Ibiyomie added. According to the pastor, these spiritual interventions were decisive in turning both of Wike’s elections in his favour.

Terrorists Now Demand Drugs, Virgins For Kidnapped Victims – Afenifere Raises Alarm Over South-West Insecurity

The pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has raised alarm over the growing number of violent attacks across the South-West, calling on federal and state governments to urgently step up action against bandits and criminal gangs. In a statement released on Saturday, the group’s National Publicity Secretary, Jare Ajayi, expressed deep concern about the increasing loss of lives in several states in the region. Ajayi also decried the brutal manner in which kidnapping victims are being treated, saying abductees are often subjected to severe beatings and degrading conditions while in captivity. He cited several troubling incidents reported in different parts of the South-West, including attacks on churches, police stations, homes and major highways in Ondo State. He also mentioned communities reportedly overrun by criminals in Kwara State, the killing of farmers and attacks on travellers along the Igbeti–Kisi road in the Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State, as well as violent kidnappings in Ekiti State where some victims were murdered and their bodies held while ransom was demanded. Describing the ransom demands made by some kidnappers, Ajayi said: “The greatest demonstration of the heartlessness of these evil-doers was their demands of N1.5 million, Indian hemp, cocaine, a synthetic drug known as ICE, and cartons of canned beer for the release of a corpse in their captivity.” He also revealed another shocking demand allegedly made by the criminals. “The kidnappers even hilariously asked for virgins to be brought in exchange for four men that they had previously abducted.” Ajayi warned that insecurity has reached a point where even homes can no longer be considered safe. “Until recently, the home environment was considered a ‘safe haven’. “Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. A couple was attacked in front of their home in Akure, Ondo State, with the husband shot while trying to prevent his wife from being abducted,” he said.

Actress, Idia Aisien Reveals She Spent Millions On Ex-Boyfriends Before Experiencing Betrayal

Actress and media personality Idia Aisien has shared details about her past relationships, revealing that she once spent significant amounts of money on men she dated, believing it would help build a future together. During a chat with Toke Makinwa, the Nigerian-American star explained that she often offered financial support to her partners, especially when they faced challenges in their businesses. “I spent millions on men,” she said. “I used to spend money on guys. If they complained that their business wasn’t doing well, I would give them a couple of millions. At the time, I was dating to marry, so I didn’t want my partner to struggle; I tried to help when he was trying to invest in something,” she said. She noted that her actions were guided by the belief that kindness and support in the early stages of a relationship would eventually be returned. “I believed that if you help a guy in the beginning, later when he’s better, he will help you in return, and that how you treat him is how he will eventually treat you.” However, one relationship ended painfully after she discovered that a man she had helped financially had deceived her. “There was an ex I gave money to when he said his business was down. Later, his phone suddenly stopped going through, but I later found out he had flown a popular girl to Dubai.” According to her, the man initially claimed his phone had issues, but the truth came out when someone close to her spotted him with another woman. “He insisted his phone was having issues, but one of my brothers told me they saw him with another woman and even had picture evidence. When I confronted him, he first said it was his friends who forced him to go on the trip, then later claimed it was also for business.” Aisien said such experiences have left their mark on how she now views relationships. “Betrayal in relationships is something that has happened to me,” she said. Idia Aisien first gained prominence as a presenter on lifestyle programmes like You Got Issues and Style 101 on Spice TV before later establishing herself in the Nigerian film industry as an actress.

Teni Pushes Past Security To Reach VIP Section At Political Event With Remi Tinubu, Akpabio, Umo Eno

A viral clip from a political event has shown Nigerian singer Teni pushing past security personnel to reach the VIP section while performing. The entertainer, who appeared to be the guest performer at the gathering, had been thrilling the audience with her 2018 hit song “Case” when she suddenly began heading toward the restricted area reserved for top dignitaries. Among those seated in the section were First Lady Remi Tinubu, Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio. Security operatives were seen attempting to stop the singer as she approached, briefly holding her back and trying to prevent her from entering the area. Teni, however, continued moving forward until she eventually made her way into the VIP section. After gaining access, she kept performing and engaged directly with Akpabio and Eno, encouraging them to sing along to part of the song before switching to another of her tracks, “Uyo Meyo.” During the performance, the First Lady was also seen speaking to Teni as the singer knelt before her, although the details of their conversation were not immediately known. Governor Eno later reacted to the event in a Facebook post, expressing appreciation to the First Lady for attending and for the words of encouragement she delivered during the programme. He also restated the federal government’s commitment to key infrastructure projects and said the women present at the gathering demonstrated support for President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Akpabio, and himself as the 2027 elections approach.

Iran Names Mojtaba Khamenei As New Supreme Leader After Father’s Assassination

Iran has appointed Mojtaba Khamenei as the country’s new supreme leader, slightly more than a week after the killing of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during coordinated United States and Israeli strikes that have triggered a wider regional war. Clerics confirmed the 56-year-old as the new head of the Islamic Republic on Sunday, placing him in charge of guiding the nation through what is being described as the most serious crisis since the system was established 47 years ago. Shortly after the announcement, key figures within Iran’s leadership structure, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the armed forces, publicly declared their loyalty to the new supreme leader. Ali Larijani, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council who is overseeing Iran’s security response to the ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel, urged the country to rally behind the new leader. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also endorsed the decision, describing obedience to the newly appointed supreme leader as a “religious and national duty”. Although Mojtaba Khamenei has never contested any public office or participated in an electoral process, he has long been considered a powerful figure within Iran’s political and religious establishment. For years, he operated within the inner circle of his father and developed strong connections with the IRGC. In recent years, his name frequently surfaced as a likely successor to his father, and his appointment is widely viewed as a sign that hardline elements within Iran’s leadership remain firmly in control. Analysts suggest this could mean Tehran is unlikely to pursue negotiations or compromise while the war continues into its second week. Al Jazeera correspondent Ali Hashem described him as his “father’s gatekeeper”. “He adopts the positions of his father with respect to the United States, with respect to Israel. So we are expecting a confrontational leader. We’re not expecting any moderation.” “However, if this war comes to an end and he is still alive, and he is able to continue running the country, there is going to be big potential… to find new routes for Iran.”
