At least 45 Palestinians have been killed today as Israeli airstrikes intensified across the Gaza Strip, according to local medical sources.
Twenty-nine of the deaths occurred in Gaza City and northern Gaza, with the heaviest bombardments reported in the Tuffah neighbourhood and Jabalia. Reports from the ground indicate that at least 10 homes have been destroyed in these areas.
The death toll is expected to rise as rescue efforts continue amid the rubble, and as Israeli military operations show no sign of slowing.
