Uzor Arukwe Denies Dating BamBam, Says He Always Seeks Consent Before Intimate Scenes On Set

Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has responded to rumours linking him romantically with his colleague Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, popularly known as BamBam, insisting their relationship was purely professional.

During an interview with BBC Igbo, Arukwe explained that he first met BamBam on the set of the film Love In Other Words, where they worked together for the first time.

The actor said he is always cautious when performing scenes that require physical closeness, especially when the colleague involved is married. According to him, he believes it is important to discuss boundaries and obtain consent before any form of contact takes place during filming.

Arukwe revealed that he had a conversation with BamBam before they shot their scenes, asking if there were any gestures or touches that might make her uncomfortable or create tension in her marriage. He said he is careful to ensure that his actions on set never lead to issues in the personal lives of fellow actors.

He also addressed speculation that emerged after the movie was released, noting that some viewers began spreading claims that he and BamBam were romantically involved.

The actor dismissed the rumours, maintaining that their interaction never went beyond their professional roles in the film.

“before i touched her, i asked her if there was any way i could touch her that her husband wouldn’t like or that might cause problems at home. that movie was the first time i had ever met her. but people started saying we slept together and were dating, which was completely false.”
