Davido Officially Aligns With Uncle’s Accord Party Move

Afrobeats star Davido has announced plans to officially align with the Accord Party, publicly showing support for his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The singer disclosed this on Tuesday through his verified X account, revealing that he would be in Osogbo to complete his party registration and receive his membership card at the Osun State Government House.

“I Will be live in Osun to pick up my @AccordPartyNG membership card @ IMOLE HOUSE OSOGBO Tomorrow… see you soon ACCORDINGLY 😇 Cc @AAdeleke_01.”

Davido’s declaration comes shortly after Governor Adeleke adopted the Accord Party as his political platform ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship election.

The governor formally announced his exit from the Peoples Democratic Party on December 9, 2025, during an event at the Government House banquet hall in Osogbo, attended by national and state leaders of the Accord Party.

Explaining his move, Adeleke cited unresolved leadership challenges within the PDP at the national level. He said he joined the Accord Party on November 6 after consulting widely with stakeholders and opinion leaders to strengthen his bid for a second term.

Davido had earlier reacted to news of his uncle’s defection by reposting the announcement on social media with the caption, “Jeje…”.
