Former Delta North Senator Peter Nwaoboshi Dies At 68

Former Delta North Senator Peter Nwaoboshi has died at the age of 68, SaharaReporters has confirmed.

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori announced the passing, expressing profound sorrow over the loss. In a statement released through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor hailed Nwaoboshi as a proud son of Delta State and a fearless champion of the Anioma people.

Governor Oborevwori praised the late senator’s enduring contributions to nation-building and Delta State’s political development, noting his long years of service to his constituents.

Nwaoboshi, a key figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), twice served as the party’s chairman in Delta State, playing a pivotal role in strengthening its structures.

The death was also confirmed by Delta State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, who described Nwaoboshi as a mentor, leader, and friend.

“I just lost my senior brother, boss, leader, and friend, Distinguished Senator Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi,” Akpowowo wrote on Facebook. “While I mourn with his immediate family, the Nwaboshis, Ibusa community, Oshimili North, and the entire Delta State, I pray the Almighty God to accept his soul and grant him eternal rest.”
