Nollywood Actor Taiye Arimoro Suspended By AGN, DGN, AMP Over On-Set Violence
Nollywood actor Taiye Arimoro has been suspended by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), and Association of Movie Producers (AMP) following a violent incident on a movie set.
Arimoro was identified as the main aggressor in the incident, during which he physically assaulted the production manager and driver. He also circulated a misleading video that wrongly implicated producer Peggy Ovire.
The guilds have barred him from participating in any Nollywood productions until he fulfills specific conditions set by the industry bodies.
The suspension underscores the guilds’ commitment to enforcing accountability and maintaining professionalism in Nollywood. While Arimoro faces disciplinary action, Ovire has been advised to enhance her management practices and issue an apology for her part in escalating the conflict.
