Michael Jackson Crowned 2025’s Highest-Earning Deceased Celebrity With $105 Million

Michael Jackson continues to reign supreme even in death, as he has been named the highest-earning late celebrity of 2025 by Forbes.

The “King of Pop” pulled in an impressive $105 million over the past year, more than any other deceased star, according to the magazine’s annual ranking.

A major boost to Jackson’s income came from Sony Music’s $600 million purchase of a 50% stake in his master recordings and publishing catalog in 2024.

Music legends once again dominated the list, with Prince, John Lennon, and Bob Marley among those featured. In total, late musicians accounted for ten of the top thirteen spots, collectively earning $541 million in the past year.

Since his death in 2009, Jackson’s estate has brought in an astounding $3.5 billion, reinforcing his status as the most financially successful posthumous celebrity of all time.
