Bobrisky dragged, forced off UK-bound flight

Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, on Thursday night was reportedly dragged off a flight bound for London following his recent release from detention.

This incident came after Isaac Fayose, brother to former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, shared photos of himself with Bobrisky at the airport.

However, shortly afterward, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) allegedly arrived at Lagos airport to arrest Bobrisky, leading to a dramatic scene in which airport security officers forcefully removed him from the plane. Bobrisky later took to Instagram, calling on Nigerians for help and stating that he was injured during the incident.

In related news, recent claims circulated online that Bobrisky supposedly served part of his jail term in a private apartment rather than in a prison facility. This allegation came after activist VeryDarkMan shared a video in which a voice, purportedly Bobrisky’s, claimed he had bribed EFCC officials to drop a money laundering charge. The voice also mentioned that a “godfather” and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) Controller General, Haliru Nababa, arranged for him to serve his sentence outside the regular prison system.

Addressing these claims, a senior NCoS official clarified to The Punch newspaper that what is often referred to as “VIP treatment” is actually a special facility available at some custodial centers, designed to accommodate certain health or personal conditions of inmates, including age, sex, and medical needs.
