2Baba Accuses Family Of Ruining His Home As Wife Faces Death Threats
2Baba has broken his silence on the escalating controversy around his marriage, accusing members of his family of crossing the line and triggering a wave of threats against his wife, Natasha Osawuru.
The singer’s emotional reaction followed a police petition reportedly submitted by his relatives to the Inspector-General of Police. In the petition, Natasha was accused of assault, bigamy and financial misconduct, with claims that she allegedly attacked the artiste in both the UK and Abuja and took possession of his passport and other personal documents.
In a heated video response that quickly spread online, 2Baba disowned the claims and described the entire situation as a dangerous distortion of the truth. “I’m a grown man, and I believe I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with. I’m perfectly okay. I recently performed at a show in Abuja,” he stated, pushing back strongly against any suggestion that he is being controlled or manipulated.
He disclosed that the fallout from the petition has now put Natasha’s safety at risk. “My family, who claim they want to save me, have actually destroyed me and damaged someone’s daughter’s character. Natasha is getting death threats right now,” he revealed.
While admitting that he and his wife recently had a disagreement, 2Baba insisted it was nothing unusual. “Natasha and I had a quarrel, which is normal between couples, but this is getting out of hand,” he said, warning that the situation has now moved beyond private marital issues into something far more dangerous.
He also suggested that this is not the first time his family has interfered in his relationships, hinting at similar past experiences. “My family did this with Annie too. I’m a peaceful person, but this is getting to me too much,” he added.
Describing the petition and the viral narratives as deliberate falsehoods, the singer dismissed them as “fabricated lies and stories” and “nonsense.” He admitted that the crisis has left him emotionally drained and under intense pressure, while promising to address several long-suppressed issues in the coming days.
Calling for an immediate end to the threats and public attacks, 2Baba condemned the portrayal of him as mentally unstable. “This tag of me being mentally unstable is ridiculous and equivalent to killing somebody. This has to stop,” he said. “I beg everyone to have some human conscience and stop the death threats and harassment.”
He also issued a direct warning to his relatives to step away from his personal life. “Writing petitions and saying all sorts of nonsense is not fair. I want my family to stay out of my private and personal life. Just let me be,” he stated.
Bringing his message to a close, 2Baba painted a grim picture of the emotional damage already done. “Natasha has been hurt terribly. You are ruining my home. In the name of saving me, you are destroying another person’s life. Please, just let us be.”
