2027: Rivers Leaders Don’t Need Governor to Mobilize Support for Tinubu – Wike

The Rivers State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that political leaders in the state do not require the backing of a governor to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu.

Wike made the assertion on Saturday during the launch of the organisation’s Port Harcourt office, stressing that grassroots commitment, not gubernatorial influence, drives genuine political support.

“We are working for President Tinubu. We don’t need a governor to mobilise us. We have what it takes to operate independently,” Wike said. “We have senators, Assembly members, local government chairmen, National Assembly members, and party chairmen of both APC and PDP.”

According to the former Rivers State governor, the group’s mobilisation effort is rooted in personal conviction rather than external direction.

“We have mobilised ourselves to demonstrate our commitment because true support doesn’t need to be brought by someone – you have to make the commitment yourself,” he added.

Wike noted that the display of unity reflects the resolve of local leaders across Rivers State, who have voluntarily pledged their support for President Tinubu and his administration.
