Riley Moore Presents Report On Christian Persecution In Nigeria To Trump At White House

U.S. Congressman Riley Moore has formally handed over a report addressing the persecution of Christians in Nigeria to President Donald Trump at the White House. Moore, who recently travelled to Nigeria as part of an American fact-finding delegation, disclosed on X that the document details what he termed Christian genocide in the country. “Just presented our report on the persecution of Christians in Nigeria to the White House,” he wrote while posting a photo of himself holding a manila envelope. “More to come.” His submission comes after his visit to Nigeria alongside other U.S. officials to assess the situation firsthand. The development adds to the debate surrounding allegations of targeted attacks against Christians — claims the administration of President Bola Tinubu has repeatedly rejected. Last year, Trump redesignated Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern and also ordered airstrikes against terrorist elements in Sokoto on Christmas Day.

Gospel singer Busola Oke, widely known as Eleyele, broke down in tears as she opened up about the hurdles in her music career. In a heartfelt message, she expressed frustration over the lack of recognition for quality gospel music today and the difficulties she faces as an artist. Her emotional outpouring came shortly after the death of fellow gospel singer Bunmi Omije Ojumi. Eleyele painted a vivid picture of struggle, questioning how people are expected to survive amid scarcity. “Good music doesn’t sell anymore. How can someone eat when there’s no food? How can you drive when there’s no car? How can you be at peace when there’s no peace? How can you feel less alone when you’re all by yourself?” she said, tears streaming down her face. She also revealed feelings of isolation, noting that many who once supported her have disappeared during her hardest times. “When things were going well, so many people were around. But now that there’s nothing, you don’t see anyone anymore — no colleagues, no friends, no family… nobody,” she shared. The National Assembly has postponed its plenary resumption, shifting the schedule from Tuesday, February 24, 2026, to Thursday, March 5, 2026. The announcement was made on Monday in a statement signed by the Clerk of the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana. The delay is intended to give committees additional time to complete ongoing budget defence sessions with various ministries, departments, and agencies. The statement said: “This is to inform Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members of the National Assembly that the plenary session earlier scheduled for Tuesday, 24th February 2026 has been postponed to enable committees to conclude ongoing budget defence exercises. “Plenary will now reconvene in both chambers on Thursday, 5th March 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Members are requested to take note of the revised date and time.” The postponement comes as lawmakers continue detailed reviews of the 2026 Appropriation Bill, with several committees still meeting with government agencies to ensure a thorough evaluation of the budget. Fido Apologizes For Past Mistakes, Promises Growth And Better Music

Fido has issued a heartfelt apology for past mistakes, acknowledging the pressures of fame and vowing to grow both personally and professionally. In a candid message to his followers, he admitted: “There’s no easy way to write this, so I’ll just say it plainly. I messed up. Stardom came into my life quickly. One minute I was dreaming about it, the next minute I was living it. And while the world was watching me grow, I was still trying to understand who I was inside that growth. Along the way, I made mistakes. I said things that should never have been said. I allowed ego, excitement, and inexperience to influence some of my decisions. That’s not who I want to be. And it’s not who I’m becoming.” Fido extended his apology to his fans and the wider Afrobeats community: “To my fans, the ones who stream the music, defend me, pray for me, and believe in me, I am sorry. To the global Afrobeats community, the legends and godfathers who opened these doors before me, my colleagues and everyone who felt disappointed by my words or actions, I apologise. Truly.” Reflecting on his journey, he said: “There are moments in life when you either double down on pride or you humble yourself and grow. I chose to step back. I chose to listen. I chose to reflect. It takes strength to admit you were wrong. It takes maturity to retrace your steps. I’m doing both.” He assured fans that the lessons he has learned will influence his next chapter: “I am still learning. I am still evolving. But I promise you this, I have taken these lessons seriously. The man walking into this next chapter is more grounded, more aware, and more respectful of the platform he’s been given. The music you’re about to hear will come from a deeper place. A more honest place. A more grateful place.” Fido also expressed gratitude to those who held him accountable rather than cancelling him, while acknowledging those who stepped away: “I understand. This is growth. This is maturity. This is me doing better. It’s game time again.” The apology highlights Fido’s commitment to personal growth, humility, and a renewed focus on delivering music from a place of honesty and gratitude. There’s no easy way to write this, so I’ll just say it plainly. I messed up. Stardom came into my life quickly. One minute I was dreaming about it, the next minute I was living it. And while the world was watching me grow, I was still trying to understand who I was inside that… pic.twitter.com/KDGcaE7rzT — Fido (@MrFidooooo) February 23, 2026

Pastor Folu Adeboye Appointed Chancellor Of Caleb University After Honorary Doctorate

Pastor Folu Adeboye has been appointed Chancellor of Caleb University, marking a new leadership role for the cleric at the Lagos-based institution. The announcement followed her conferment of an honorary Doctor of Humanity (Honoris Causa) at the university’s 15th convocation ceremony. In a statement issued on Monday by the institution’s Information, Media and Publication Specialist, Olawale Adekoya, the university stated that as Chancellor, she will oversee convocations, confer degrees on graduating students and function as the ceremonial head of the school. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Olalekan Asikhia described the development as a defining moment for the university’s progress and identity. “The conferment and subsequent appointment of the globally revered cleric, fondly known as Mummy G.O., signal what observers have described as ‘a convergence of scholarship and sanctity’ — a rare alignment of intellectual excellence and spiritual authority at the summit of university governance.” Asikhia added that the institution believes her wealth of experience will help reinforce its guiding principles and future direction. “For decades, she has functioned not merely as consort to a global spiritual leader, but as an institutional builder, a counsellor of nations, and a matriarch whose disciplined grace has fortified one of the world’s largest Christian movements.” The Registrar, Mr. Mayokun Olumeru, also welcomed the appointment, saying the university considers it a privilege to have her serve in the role and describing her as “a guardian of values, and a steady moral compass in turbulent times.” Pastor Adeboye is a senior figure in the Redeemed Christian Church of God and the wife of its General Overseer, Enoch Adeboye. She is widely known for her work in education advocacy, youth mentorship and family counselling. A total of 1,924 students graduated during the convocation ceremony, including 96 First Class graduates and 22 recipients of doctoral degrees.

El-Rufai Remains In ICPC Custody As Bail Request Stalls After Eight Days

The continued detention of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has sparked fresh concern, as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has not approved his bail more than a week after he was taken into custody. According to a statement released on Monday by his media adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, El-Rufai has been in detention since February 16, 2026, when he responded to an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. He was reportedly held by the EFCC until the evening of February 18 before being transferred to the ICPC. Adekeye disclosed that El-Rufai’s legal team filed a formal bail request with the ICPC on February 19, but no response has been received. He also noted that the lawyers have not been shown any remand order authorising his prolonged detention, despite the constitutional provision that limits detention without charge to 48 hours. The former governor is expected in court this week over two separate matters. A fundamental rights enforcement suit filed against the Federal Government, the ICPC, the EFCC and the Department of State Services is set for hearing on February 25 at the Federal Capital Territory High Court. The suit seeks an order granting him bail. On the same date, he is also scheduled to be arraigned on charges said to have been filed by the DSS. Providing further details, Adekeye said operatives of the ICPC searched El-Rufai’s residence on Aso Drive on February 19. His lawyer, Ubong Akpan, criticised the search, describing the warrant as flawed and the operation unlawful. El-Rufai has since approached the Federal High Court, asking the court to nullify the warrant on grounds including lack of probable cause, excessive scope and drafting errors. The case names the ICPC, the Chief Magistrate of the FCT, the Inspector-General of Police and the Attorney-General of the Federation as respondents. El-Rufai is also seeking an order preventing authorities from using any materials seized during the search in any proceedings against him.
